Dingle
Right before fighting WARBOT, you can rehome Pearl to anywhere you want on the mainland. This opens up a new series of tasks involving decorating her new home. Doing this opens up fabulous prizes, such as a way to easily teleport to her as any character, 9 slot drying racks and her powerful new tea options. My favorite prizes: 25 points lets you build her tea shop. Her tea prices get discounts at 50 and 75 points. 90 points let you make 9 slot drying racks on her property, which give salt per kelp dried on it. This guide is for earning those decoration points, as easily as possible. I also include sections for the harder to earn points, and my reasoning for why they're more difficult. You can still choose to go for the harder to earn points, in order to offset point penalties you may get during your fancy megabase decorating.  EASY POINTS Points for each bolded task are in parenthesis. 3 tables with decorations (15)   6 boards, 3 rope for 3 tables.   Then pick a cheap option for each table decoration:     2 logs, 2 twigs per empty frame.     2 logs, 1 rope per vase.     1 twig, 1 rock, 1 flint, 1 gold per art.   One of the best resource cost per point options.    4 chairs (8)   Both wooden chairs and the driftwood rocker.   Wooden chairs are VERY cheap, it's 2 points per wooden board. 20 dock pilings (10)   40 logs, so works out to 1 point a board. 10 flowers (5)   The cost of a bug net, less if Wortox.   Bug net cost: 4 twigs, 2 silk, 1 rope. Critter den pet (5)   Pet hound for a Monster Lasagna and a hound's tooth is probably the easiest one.   NO WALTERS ALLOWED. 20 bushes/saplings/tufts/etc, or whatever pickables plants are easiest (10)   Nothing spiky. They also have to be things that regrow after being picked, so farm crops don't count but weeds do.   Don't even have to fertilie them.   Reeds and Banana bushes can't get Deadly Brightshades, but you can just use whatever and place them on the edge of her property. If you don't go within 3 tiles of them, they won't attack. 3 drying racks (9)   Handy to have anyway, for tea drying.   Drying rack: 3 twigs, 2 charcoal, 3 rope. 9, 6, 9 total.   Or just one Large Drying Rack, if you want to wait for 90 points. 3 driftwood, 4 barnacles, 3 rope. Combriner and Tackle Receptacle (6, 3 for each one)   5 cookie cutter shells, 5 moon glass, 3 moon rock for Combriner.   1 bone shard, 1 driftwood, 1 electrical doodad for Tackle Receptacle.   Receptacle is stuff you likely have lying around at that point.   You probably want to build the Combriner anyway. 10 Potted Ferns (10 points)   You can use succulents instead, but ferns are cheaper.   2 picked ferns, 1 broken shell per point. Tea shop (10)   5 boards, 6 barnacles, 8 spider silk.   You'll want to build this anyway!   Need 25 points for this. Pearl's level 5 house upgrade (5)   10 moon glass, 10 driftwood, 10 silk.   Lets you get Wind Charms, which are more easy points.   Comes with 2 wind chimes for free, so it's really worth 9 points immediately. Wind Charms (8, or 14 with a Scion drop)   1 twig, 1 broken shell per the 2 additional charms you have to make to fill all 4 slots immediately.   Post-Scion, you can swap out a Charm for one of its otherwise useless drops, for 6 extra points.  EASY TOTAL: 101 points, 107 if you've killed Scion This is enough to max out her points at 100! And you get everything possible from her at 90, anyway.  HARDER POINTS 5 bee boxes (5)   10 boards, 5 honeycomb, 20 bees.   Not very hard, I mostly took it out of the EASY section as there's cheaper options for "wood points".   Also can be somewhat annoying in Spring. Pearl's Hot Tub (10)   A shovel, 10 cookie cutter shells, 10 barnacles, 10 moon glass.   Requires some extra farming of cookie cutters and barnacles.   I'd probably build this anyway, for the full spa experience, but it's easy to skip in terms of usefulness.   60 points to build this. 10 of Pearl's Lights, with Light Bulbs (10)   3 stone, 2 barnacles, 2 broken shells each. 30, 20, 20 for all points.   The materials per points really add up.   Also VERY ANNOYING to have to be near Pearl to craft 10 of them, you can't prototype them.   Possibly worth it to just make 7, the minimum so that Pearl stays out at Dusk during Spring and Winter.   Need 10 points to build these. Above Average Tree (15)   You have to make a fully grown Above Average Tree for this, it's some work.   I'd only do this if you intend for Pearl to be your summer base location.   10 tiles must be covered.   Be careful not to plug up a fishing spot above her house. Shell Bell Turf (15)   There are two other turf options, but they're worth less.   25 rocks, 25 broken shells for the required 100 shell bell turf tiles.   Using a pitchfork to do this is painful, you will also want the Turf Raiser helm. Winter's Feast Only Stuff (14 extra points, 12 post Scion)   You can reskin her house, Hot Springs, Tea Shop, Light Posts, and Large Drying Racks with Winter's Feast skins for 2 extra points each.   You can replace her Wind Charms with winter's feast versions for 4 points each, an extra 2 points each.  HARDER TOTAL: 60 points, 72-74 if Winter's Feast You can just avoid these points unless you really want to give her every decoration, or you want leeway for losing points due to penalties such as junk on the floor SPECIAL FISHING SECTION Fish Scale-O-Matics (20+, no hard point cap)   You get a point per fish scale-o-matic with a unique fish in it   You also get another 0.012 points per fish weight value, for unique fish     If more than one fish, it just uses the heaviest   Do this if you really love fishing?    That's it for this guide. I really like the idea of this quest line, though it occurs so late in the game that I consider it "megabaser only" content. By the time you're even able to start this, you've probably killed every or almost every boss. See this post for more detailed info, including the full list of Penalties:  8 1 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/169221-guide-to-pearls-decoration-quest-pearl-quest-20/ Share on other sites

RubLog6
Thanks for the guide, I'm assuming the final unlock is the large drying rack, so there would be no point trying to get more points after that? Yes, 90 points for the large drying rack is the final unlock. You can also dip to 80 points afterwards as a minimum, and it will still let you keep building the large drying rack. Popian
Something to note about the turf is that if you are going to use roads for WARBOT and Scion you will have 67 of them that you can bring back on your boat from the island. This also applies to the other types if you think that digging and transporting is more cost effective than doing what is needed to craft the amount desired. Forgot to emphasize this: most of these can be partially done for partial points. I've considered doing 8 shell turfs for a quick extra point, for example. I think my favorite route is going to be doing all the easy points, except for skipping the normal drying racks and only making one wind charm. This puts me exactly at 90 points. Then I can go right to large drying racks, for 99 points total. Currently there's no strong specific reason to shoot for 100 points. But when there is, I could use the scion glove, or any quick point or two from the harder list.
