We are missing an opportunity not putting more early quests for 10 friend points with Pearl

I guess prolly a lotta people called it out already but I'm not having much time to check forums - just read the post and noticed that

 

We. Didn't. Get. A. Single. Pearl. Task. Added.

 

Like don't get me wrong, plenty of cool stuff so far with this beta and I'm happy but not focusing a bit in the early Pearls shenanigans is a sin guys, it's the most exhausting pressure point that makes a big part of community lazy to get new CC questline going. Why not use this moment that is being focused to Pearl to give us more options to bond with her early as well? More quests pweassssse

I bring this up every so often. It would be nice to have 1 or 2 more early points for Pearl. Currently if you want an Autumn Pearl rush, your route is always very similar. More variety in this would be really nice, even if it's difficult.

And this seems like the best time to add it, if it's ever going to happen.

Here's some ideas for points:

1. Put a mushlight or glowcap on the island. This could also give decor points for Pearl Quest 2.0, and make her stay out at Dusk.

2. Build more bee boxes on her island. I got this idea because it works for her decor points.

3. Same as above, but for drying racks.

4. Give her a forget me not tea from the crockpot.

5. Build a few trawlers for her.

6. Give her an unusual favorite food, that she will accept and give a point for. Maybe something fig or barnacle related.

7. Points for other boss items. Not exactly sure what, though. Bee queen hat? Build a scaled furnace on the island?

Agreed, it would be nice to have extra tasks that make rushing Pearl in (early) Autumn more fun and viable. Especially now we got a hint that one of the strategies (albeit it being "cheesy") probably will get fixed soon.

Could be fun to get points when placing boss statues by using the Potter's Wheel for example (stealing this idea from grm's Rush Friendly mod).

Yeah most videos I see just use the chair trick now. I try to avoid outright bug exploits, or I would do the same.

That mod has a lot of great ideas! I also like the idea of a way to more consistenty find salt. Having the first monkey treasure spawn on moon quay is great, too.

Looking at the mod, I also wish rifts didn't take 5 days to spawn, and double wish that it didn't take 15+ days after the CC kill to get your first husk.

Something like this, I don't use it personally so I may get a step wrong. Someone can correct me:

Put the wooden chair down for her, that's a point when she sits in it.

Wait 8 minutes.

Take the server down, then put it back up.

Put another wooden chair down. It's now worth a point, again.

Repeat if you need, though most people just do this once for the one extra point.

This. Is exactly what I'm talking about. Neat. Makes us use a thing that otherwise is just there. Helps with rushing without taking away the challenge. Perfection. 

 

I would be so down for the digamajig >9 seeds in the island to be a quest too. So we can plant for potatoes in order to craft Wagstaffs astroggles in her island and get momentum going

Slightly offtopic, but yes, it's a great mod. I highly recommend it if you'd like to rush everything in a few hours. I've playtested it for/with the mod developer twice, and it was really fun. And because you are able to spawn all mutated bosses in first Autumn and Winter with this mod, we were able to rush Scion (and most of the other bosses as side quests for fun) before the first day of Spring.

Rollback after the start of the next day works too btw, that's how we use it when rushing CC on Klei pubs.

8. You can give Pearl a pet now from the mosaic critter den. It would be great if you could do this early for a friendship point, not just decor.

9. Same as above, for the new driftwood rocking chair. Even if the chair was made harder to make.

Agreed with the critter task as friendship point. Would be fun!
