Tigin
Now that the title is out of the way... A few stable designs for the upcoming changes to critters, which prevents miserable critters from growing scales. These rely on a mechanic where critters will not idle into cells that have a ghost tile construction on them. This allows for ~98% hydrogen uptime even in rooms with mealwood in them (without this trick, hydrogen uptime typically range from 30-60%). I recommend picking a material that's useless and you'll likely never produce so your dupes never attempt to supply them (funnily enough Plywood is a good candidate) I generally use remote workers but they're optional. They can be a general free tile of space and replace some tiles with liquid-locked doors. Critter movement is generally done through one-way doors (those are the liquid blobs) in favor of incubators/critter dropoffs, although nothing wrong with those setups either. Smol Stable (2 dreckos) For smol stables with 2 or less dreckos, the excess dreckos isn't enough to surpass the limit for a drecko to be miserable, so nothing changes. 3 could probably be made to work with modifications. Full-sized stable (8 dreckos) You'll notice it doesn't look much different from drecko ranches you see on live, except for the introduction of two additional overflow rooms. For 8 dreckos, I found 3 separate shearing station rooms that can handle 9 dreckos each enough. Glum Box Similar to plug slugs, we can avoid grooming altogether and just use dreckos that lay their one egg. Each mealwood plant can feed 4+ glossy dreckos due to their glum metabolism. Each mini-stable can hold up to 10 without being miserable, but I set it to 9 to be safe. This requires breeding dreckos from elsewhere to populate it initially.
