What happened to the twitch mod?

this mod seems to be the only one with the "twitch plays together" tags on steam workshop, but it seems to be abandoned? last update was in 2016, you don't hear about it anywhere anymore, no one's using it on twitch, so what happened to it? was it just a failed experiment that turned out to be unpopular and just remained on the workshop? if that's all there is to it, maybe it's worth reviving it and trying to get people to use it again? back in 2016 dst had about 17000 players as monthly peak, but now it has about 67000, so it seems likely that the mod/system could be better received now, now that the game has a bigger playerbase. Guides for community on how to make own mods like that one or just adding more effects to it could be nice too, as it only has 6 effects now

woah, i'd pretty much forgotten about that!! I think it would be neat to see this revisited, especially with how consistent Klei has been with Twitch drops!

If they were to make an updated version it would be neat to see it imbedded in-game somewhere in the world settings as opposed to a mod, similar to how Cult of the Lamb has it in-game!
