This is just an idea I had that I thought would be good as a final time-out attack.

The boss summons these 5 curved walls of shadow fire (indicated by the circles), and starts rotating them around you. At the same time, the boss triggers an earthquake, which forces you to do a lot of careful dodging. The fires don't inflict hitstun, but they have a massive damage over effect time when touching them. The boss's health depletes as the attack continues, until it hits 0.

I think it could be more interesting if the earthquake dropped Dreadstone stalagmites onto you, which would deal planar damage (and maybe there would be a large one that blocks your path, like in AG's fight), or the edges of the arena get smaller (either breaking off or getting swallowed by shadow fire) and force you to get closer to the boss.

 

I hope there will be more complex attacks like this and WARBOT's up ahead. It's a lot more interesting and satisfying when you have to focus on carefully dodging and positioning yourself than just kiting a boss. It's strange that I've never seen any modded bosses that try so hard...

I love this idea.

This would be an amazing visual that fits perfect. Maybe a transition between Charlie's different personality. Indirect damage so it's not necessary to be perfect but things can go bad fast.

Creates atmosphere in the fight with tension and you can't just rush with a group. Plus the boss while vulnerable is also protecting themselves while giving the player a bit of room to heal while running.

I'd say also have an attack that shrinks the arena by creating a final fire ring that starts getting closer if the boss not damaged fast enough.

Maybe have the fires move towards the outside as the attack ends creating the fire ring.
