If you play only for bionic duplicates, then food is not needed, I think it's worth adding to the game a biogenerator that processes food into energy.

There is biogenerator in the game. Is called Hatch Ranch. Or Rhex Ranch with Prehistoric Pack (but only for meat). Or you can feed it all to Angry Tree. Also, why farm for food anyway with Bionics?

(I understand Ranching, because critters are amazing sources of other things, but plants are mostly for food)

We already have a biogenerator in oni - A dupe takes in food and oxygen and outputs ~360w per second on manual generator.
