Hey o/ so just gonna dive right in..
It's been well over a year now since details for the new application process were going to be made available "soon," as suggested in the above-linked previous post on the topic...
(...and several years since the official page said as much..)

Is this still something that's underway? Or has the project been shelved? Any info appreciated.

I don't mean to belabor this topic; I just care a heck of a lot about Don't Starve, and about the people I make content for.

Tl;dr: The official page regarding the Klei Ambassadors Program was updated a week ago (as of the time of this comment).
The only change being, instead of the previous statement that details about an application process are to be made available soon, aspiring creators now must reach out to existing ambassadors in order to be referred to the program.

I was just gonna leave it at that, but after persuing this topic for several years, I'd like to at least add the following (I'll try not to write an essay, lol)-

Many moons ago, everyone could enable drops for DST streams (I even did it myself for a little while!). For understandable reasons, this was eventually changed to be only available to Klei Ambassadors- which is how I initially found out about the role myself. As far as I'm aware, anyone could apply at the time- which, no doubt, led to a lot of extra work for the staff at Klei. Regardless, after a while, applications were closed, "temporarily."

That was the state of things, by the time I found out you even could apply. The rest of what happened is mostly clear from the original post about this topic, and this thread itself- basically that the staff did eventually comment on the issue (confirming that application info would at some time become available), on two separate occasions.

Which brings me to my actual point- it just feels bad, man, after waiting so long and being pretty diligent about keeping the topic in the public eye, that this never happened. There wasn't even an announcement or anything, I had to come across the change on the page for myself.. If something had been said here, or anywhere, sooner- I wouldn't have felt so disappointed!

I do get it- this change probably makes a lot of things simpler on yall's side (or at least, keeps them simple). I just feel like the whole thing could have been handled differently.

I am a creator on Douyin (TikTok in China) and have been following Klei's games and the "Klei Ambassador" program with great interest. May I politely ask if Klei has any plans to join Douyin in the future?

Currently, major platforms in China such as Douyin, Xiaohongshu (Little Red Book), and Bilibili are actively recruiting creators, and many have introduced exclusive signing mechanisms. To put it simply, a signed creator receives more traffic support from the platform, but in return, they are not allowed to post videos on other platforms. I understand that Klei currently primarily collaborates with Bilibili in China, and the Ambassador program is invitation‑based. Unfortunately, I don't know any already‑signed Klei Ambassadors on Douyin. Therefore, I would like to ask: as a creator on Douyin, is there any way to apply to become a Klei Ambassador?

I will continue to follow this program. Thank you very much for your answer!
