Hello, for the past couple of days I have been attempting to mod my own test character into DST by following the directions of The Big Book of DST Character Creation. I have deleted all of the TEX , XML, and all of the anim folders sub folders as stated in the guide, and drew over and replaced every single ESCTEMPLATE picture by using paint tooo sai and all file name and script names from esctemplate or extended sample character to dewey (and capitalized when possible) I even set DST compatibility to true, I even put the mod icon into images as instructed too

despite my efforts, when I boot up DST there is no mod icon, and the compatibility is unknown. When I have it enabled nothing seems to have changed at all.

I have attached everything that could help with fixing this problem, not including the images and other files that won’t affect the mod a lot

Maybe your mod folder name has special characters or is too long, it should look like this

\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Don't Starve Together\mods\deway1mod\modinfo.lua
Not
\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Don't Starve Together\mods\deway1mod\deway1mod\modinfo.lua

Hey there, thank you for this, it seems to be working now…except for the fact that my art assets are not showing up in the game :)

It's quite difficult to know what's wrong with your mod, I suggest you try recompiling the asset files like png and scml, if that still doesn't work zip your mod (include exported) and attach it here
