With all of the suggestions about using smoker recipes later into the game, I have a feeling that the total amount of kg outputted of each smoker operation should be adjusted. Even outside of utilizing these ingredients in alternative recipes, the kcal density of an individual smoker meal is excessive. Bumping the number of kg outputted to be higher and spreading the number of output kcal evenly amongst them would help with this problem. The 20,000kcal of Tender Brisket could be split across 5kg for 4,000kcal each, the same as barbeque, or 4kg for 5000kcal each; if used as a BBQ alternative, there may need to be an art change in the recipes that use it to make the meat more generic. Veggie Poppers' 11,450kcal only really split into 5kg evenly, each individual unit containing 2,290kcal. Smoked Fish's 11,200kcal can be split into 4kg of 2,800kcal units, 5kg of 2,240kcal units, or, if alternative recipe parity is desired, 7kg of 1,600kcal units for use in surf'n'turf.

The only rhyme or reason to the mass of these recipes compared to their input is in regards to how many kcal an individual unit should contain; I think it makes sense if the smoker outputs less kg of meal than ingredients that went in, but not to the extent that it's compressed into 1kg of foodstuff.

Hmm, I feel like splitting it into smaller packets somewhat hurt smoker's uniqueness as a building that has extra long cooking time

The smoker is already a fairly unique building, and I'm not suggesting to make it work on a smaller scale, I'm suggesting that the bulk input and bulk outputs should be more balanced; the total amount of calories produced at the end doesn't change, however it produces more units of food to reduce and not destroy its calorie density.

The smoker has recipes that last a decent amount of time before rotting, 16.0 cycles compared to the majority of the electric grill's recipes having 8.0 or 4.0 cycles before spoiling. Apart from the never-spoiling foods, the elusive pickled meal and SO!'s grubfruit preserve are the only foodstuffs to have a spoil time longer than that. Does the smoker need the extra calorie compression on top of significantly increasing the calorie count of any food that goes inside of it? Veggie poppers more than double the kcal of the veggies that went into it with a higher quality to boot, smoked fish is just shy of a doubling for kcal, and tender brisket is something else entirely. The smoker is a nearly automatic building, only needing dupe intervention to empty it while not needing any external source of power.

What is the image of the smoker in your head if making it output the same amount of food over more packets is somehow "less unique" than the other options of food processing?

Could just be to reduce the individual item count of all the food.
