Tadhg Posted May 21, 2025 Share Posted May 21, 2025 The Klei server has lately been hacked or something. The server would abruptly collapse each time they joined for no apparent reason. You could tell when someone joined and stayed in the lobby for a little time before the server failed, but perhaps some guys didn't see that. And occasionally a group of griefers appears, but they are all under the leadership of one person, so anyone can join at any time. Which technique did they use to cause the server to crash? It's happened to me about 6 times in the last few weeks. That explains why the in-game server keeps crashing and shutting down without warning. It looks like someone would love to do this garbage and ruin every server. It's not necessarily words, they're characters being posted in a string that can fit in the length without hitting the restrictions. Think as if I gave you a 300 character limit and instead of putting words you paste 300 emojis instead. The chat would have to process the Unicode of each of the 300 emojis and would put a lot of stress on the server. Maybe they actually post the executable code which causes errors?
