Today windows defender suddenly starts to block dontstarve_steam_x64.exe from accessing %userprofile%\Documents\Klei.

I never encountered this before, and I suspect it might relate to today's update.

it's probably not a big deal but I don't want to add an application-level .exe file in whitelist indefinitely, which is not a good practice from security aspect. : )

I don't understand why Klei just doesn't care.

They have said multiple times that public servers are just a tool they give so players can meet other people to play in their own servers. They never were intended to be used as some kind of open private server with rules but more like a far west anarchical server you use for a while when you don't want a non casual session or want to meet people

So Klei doesn't give a damn about the players on their own servers. They just don't want to fix these issues in less than a day.

Why should they? You can host servers or join servers hosted by other people, do that if you want to play long term in a safe from griefers server... I prefer that than klei wasting resources for updates into servers that are most of the time empty once winter comes

Then why call it the public servers at all? In every other game ever public servers are known for being akin to official dedicated servers - it's common parlance.

I literally said common parlance - if a larger majority of people know it as a specific definition/concept over a smaller amount who know it as the literal definition, it is beyond reasonable to take the definition of the majority, which you are not currently in btw.

...you should ask Microsoft and Nintendo to reduce the requirements or accelerate the process of validating updates for videogames

Also you said "another" but you only mention the new ones which are coming to consoles once the process of validating the update is done. There are no exclusive content for pc

The Xbox update is behind, but the switch and PlayStation both recently updated. Pretty sure they could have planned ahead for this since it's on the calendars.

The portraits from the gorge and forge beta. Hard to blame Microsoft since they have beta features on Xbox.
