"Advanced overlay" for comparing multiple views

I want to start off saying that I'm a new player, so if this already is possible, i'd love a tutorial on how to achieve this.

Feature request: an "advanced overlay" view where I can enable multiple overlays at one time, each 'layer' with an independent opacity control.

Goal: I want to see multiple overlays at a time to allow me to make more informed decisions while building.

Use case example: while laying ventilation pipes, being able to turn on a semi-transparent heat overlay... or oxygen overlay... or both.. all while not leaving my ventilation overlay and controls.

Desired behavior: if this 'advanced overlay view' could have not only an on/off switch, but also a slider of opacity, allowing me to customize how visible each overlay appears, but also live updating as i slide back and forth (a behavior i revert to often when trying to compare two things, especially when color overlays are involved) so it would naturally help differentiate between multiple layers of color overlays, as the colors would blend accordingly when multiple are active.
