Questions about the rift event in the caves

Recommended Posts

Hi people, how are you?

I have a number of questions regarding the rift event in the caves

This is my first game in which I decided to continue playing up to this point and there are several things that I don't understand well

In my world I already have the rift activated, and I already found a Nightmare Fissure with a Dreadstone Outcrop, my questions are:

1. Once I mine or kill the ink mobs, will the Dreadstone Outcrop grow back in the same fissure or will the spawn change to any other fissure?

2. Can there be several active Dreadstone Outcrops in parallel?

3. How long does it take for the Dreadstone Outcrop to reappear?

4. Where is it most common to find them? In my case, the only ones I have found have been in fissures near the rift, is it always like this?

5. Whenever I find a Dreadstone outcrop will there be ink mobs guarding it? either the snake or the trio?

edit: I just realized that I posted in the wrong place, but I don't know how to delete the post, sorry :(

1. once you engage with the nightmare fissure and the dreadstone outcrop spawns, you must mine the outcrop first before killing the shadow monsters. if you kill the monsters first, the fissure will close, and you will lose the outcrop. after killing the monsters (with or without mining the outcrop), the fissure will close.

When the Shadow Rift is activated, approaching a Nightmare Fissure while a Shadow Rift is active will generate a Dreadstone Outcrop surrounded by Miasma, provided there is no currently active outcrop [so only one can exist at a time] and no others have been destroyed within the last three days [after you close a fissure, you must wait more than 03 days for it to open again provided that the rift is STILL open]. Additionally, Ink Blights will spawn when the player comes near.

2 & 3. only one outcrop at once per rift phase (since one phase lasts for 4-5 days), there are 03 phases over the span of 12-15 days, so you can get about 4-5 outcrops if you open the fissure immediately every time.

4. "Nightmare Fissures are objects that appear in the Ruins and rarely in Caves, more specifically, on Stalagmite Terrain." so the normal fissure that spawns nightmare creatures are the same ones that will spawn shadow monsters. it's just coincidence that your rift opens up near fissures.

5. yes, when you approach a fissure while the rift is active, it will spawn either the trio or the snakes, it's a chance.

Thanks for taking the time to reply

In short, I can farm the Dreadstone Outcrop every 3-4 days, now their location changes? or where the first one appears will the next ones appear?

outcrop doesn't have a spawn location, it just spawns whenever you approach a fissure while the rift is active. meaning you can just visit a fissure again and again every time you want an outcrop to spawn.

Oh ok, I understand, in the end it's not as tedious to get the post-rift materials as I was imagining

Thank you very much for all the information!

if you don't want to babysit the fissure and the rift, you can always duplicate the material by crafting Void Robes while wearing a Construction Amulet, and then Deconstruct the crafted Robes. the Nightmare Saddle is a better item to craft and deconstruct if you can get it

Oh, that will save me a lot of time and farming, thanks for the tip!!
