Fornax Posted February 9, 2025 Share Posted February 9, 2025 I found some animations on the forum (thankfully this thread exists) that are perfect for a bootsplash! The selected animation will accompany you during system startup/shutdown. The set includes Abigail, Bernie, Charlie, Kitcoon, Lunar Rift, Resting Horror, Wagstaff, Webber and Wurt. The requirements are a Linux distribution with Plymouth installed. Simply extract the file, copy your chosen theme folder to /usr/share/plymouth/themes/, set it as the default (on Arch Linux: sudo plymouth-set-default-theme theme-name, or edit the /etc/plymouth/plymouthd.conf file) and regenerate the initramfs.
