Settings, outfits, and skill trees reset randomly

I don't know if this is an issue with steam or DST so I haven't made a bug report, but I logged in today and all the things in the title were reset. I still have my skins, but all my character outfits got reset to what they were before I bought the skins. Does anybody know what caused this and/or how to fix it? It's not that big of a deal because I can probably just manually change all my stuff back to the way it was before, but would be nice if I could just get all that back immediately.

A couple of questions:

Did you switch devices? Or is this on the same device?

Did you switch from Beta Branch or switch back to the regular branch? Settings, outfits, and skill trees are separate on the beta branch vs regular branch

On P, a lot of settings are stored in the "Klei/DoNotStarveTogether" folder stored in your Documents folder. Did you make any changes to your Documents folder that might have moved or erased those settings?

Haven't switched device or used beta branch. The only thing i could think of that has changed between the last time i opened (2 days ago) and today is that I accidentally turned on Onedrive and then turned it off like 30 minutes later. Also this might just be something with steam cloud, I noticed that it has 0 bytes when I checked it and I honestly don't remember if I was using it for DST before.

OneDrive backup moves your documents folder from C:\users\<user>\Documents to C:\users\<user>\OneDrive\Documents. I think it is pretty likely that enabling and disabling the OneDrive backup may have moved some files around. (where <user> is the username of the account you are signed in to Windows with)

I would check your OneDrive\Documents folder to see if any of your files are in that location. If you do see files in both C:\users\<user>\OneDrive\Documents and C:\users\<user>\Documents, then OneDrive is probably what caused the issue.

I think the only stuff that is stored in Steam cloud for DST is worlds which is an option per world to store on the cloud. I believe all settings/outfits are stored in local files.

I looked at the klei folder and it turns out I now have two versions of a lot of my files, versions with and without my name. The ones with my name are from 2 days ago while the ones without are updating every time I open the game, and if i try to remove any of the current ones they just get replaced. I was able to edit the values in the skilltree file to get my insight points back but I'm not going to do that with every single file lol. Unless there is anything I can do to get it to use the ones with my name instead of the current ones I think I'm just going to deal with it, not like changing my stuff back is that hard anyways. Happens to me,

 

Sometimes my skilltrees randomoy reset mid game and i have to cheat it back.
