12/13 Wortox Hotfix: Feedback, Requests, Example New Builds + Imaginary Build

Recommended Posts

the thing is it almost doesn't matter where you put the sack it is kind of in a weird spot. It requires more effort than just using a dark sword. Adding the ability to catch things would be nice, but now its just a dark sword that can catch things. Maybe it should also activate either the shadow or both affinities that way it has a bit more synergy with his tree, while activating his affinities in the early game then being replaced in the later game when you have the actual items and need planar damage

that being said it would allow me to forgo a naughty point and go nice in my current build

I really don't care about soul jars since you can carry critters to kill for souls as living soul jars anyways.

Yeah, okay bud. They're the same thing, yup. Sure.

These forums are giving me a hernia.

What's the problem? I just said I don't like to use a skill and why I don't use it, I didn't say you shouldn't play it how you want, I'm saying that no skill  is mandatory, and no skill should be mandatory, don't get angry at me for being different than you, there is no right or wrong way to play this game.

The problem is suggesting that Bees are the same as Soul Jars and thinking you're being honest. You could try thinking about the logistics a little more, and you'll quickly figure out why this is not the case.

I'm saying I use bees to have extra soul capacity just like the jars, if you think I meant they are 1 to 1 you are not at all getting what I meant and being ignorant on purpose. I didn't say soul jars are as good as bees, didn't say they are worse, said I don't spend the extra skill points for it, and told you the workaround I use to manage souls when I need to carry more.

Me: "I like to use bees for souls."
You: "You're stupid."

Nice conversation.

Then what you meant isn't relevant. Soul Jar is objectively the most game-changing skill on his skill tree, which is why it's being asked to move down a slot on the branch to begin with. It doesn't matter if you personally choose to take the skill or not.

I respect your opinion, but I disagree with it. If you think your opinion is fact you do you.

Edit: btw I do think that moving soul jar down and knabsack up would be a good change

I do have to ask: have you tried a soul jar?

Damn yall got a different build! I love that wortox skill tree got the freedom of build that others trees couldnt get.

Heres my 3 go to builds atm (The naughty one if the jar was below sack, aka good canon ending)

Nice wortox with some aoe damage and jars extra damage (or extra carry souls):

wortoxgood.PNG.3b44ca0b6fd67eabed57d44d89148c77.PNG

Neutral wortox with a bit of everythings i like, i would probably run this all the time:wortoxneutral.PNG.13c076a5a642f43519b8da4e1d2bb25e.PNG

And my evil wortox build with the thing that jar is missing and something usefull needs to be sacrifice if jar is not changed to be the first unlock :C (please klei)wortoxevil.PNG.0e4e63223b72089f1f4494666df17cd0.PNG

Edit: if you scroll fast Wortox blinks at you animation included

Nice builds and VERY nice blink animation when scrolling. So real.

Middle build, 7/7/1 split, was possible before, too. I considered that my favorite team build before, and it's still probably one of the best builds imo.

Hopes and prayers on moving jar down to first unlock.

Thanks :D I would love to drop the soul pierce skills for the decoy ones, but i find it harder to deal aoe with it cause it only seems to trigger with true soul hop and not echos (?) once you got the affinitie its easier but before i cant use it well, which is a shame cause its more everyday use than soul pierce but oh well im not that good T_T

I don't like decoy much still personally. But you can make it work with jar snapping.

Hop -> open jar (hotkey it) -> hop -> open jar -> hop...

With practice you can spam decoys fast, at the cost of it taking a soul each time and never being as fast as soul pierce avalanches.

It's not too bad especially with Bramble Armors for some extra coverage when farming Killer Bees. I kinda just teleport back and forth in a small line over and over while alternating between a hop and my Soul Jar hotkey and it seems to get the job done for the most part. But also if I'm not taking Soul Pierce, my jars are probably not being used for Nabsack damage and exclusively just storage instead, and I'm probably playing with any number of friends who can just help me with farming. *cough* Wendy and Willow *cough* Shadow affinity makes it a lot easier too, since you can quickly clear Spiders/Bees with Soul Hop, 2 hits, Soul Hop back a small pace, 2 hits, repeat til satisfied. You have a little more control of the mobs, and less lag for extreme late game farms too ain't bad either. On one server, I just run the dude's Werepig farm every 3 days and it keeps me full on top of all the fighting I tend to do, plus grouping up for Hound attacks and such. Soul Pierce also kinda screws with Varg farms too, which are a pretty good option for stocking up in long-term worlds.

Also, ugh, I just realized that splitting Soul Jar and Nabsack to two mini lines would give my Neutral build the one point I crave for another Neutral skill and feel entirely complete. Ahhhhhhhhhh, I HATE sacrificing Capricious Movement if I can avoid it, and Impromptu Flautist without a secondary skill to give it utility is so... bleh.

I was able to think about all these builds more. Some extra thoughts before a hotfix comes out that maybe addresses some of these previous things:

1. Cloudy Carmine is so underwhelming that I don't think theres any reason to get it at all. This is very limiting, as it effectively only lets you dump 2 points into Neutral. Otherwise it's all Naughty or Nice, with no way to really avoid them.

2. End game builds really seem to be some variant of Naughty. Mostly because many non-Naughty perks become less valuable as time goes on. Examples: The otherwise excellent Lifegiver 3 gets much less valuable after the first antlion kill. Pleasant Pastorale gets less useful the more you set up a strong soul farm. Soul Bastion just adds more healing per soul, but after a certain point healing becomes vastly secondary to how much armor you have, just like it always has been.

3. Being forced to get a knabsack still sucks. Its utility is still underwhelming if you're not using it as a weapon. You're not even designed to use it after a rift opens. Even as a multi pickup tool, it burns through durability extremely quickly.

4. Reverberation more or less being a mandatory (due to affinities) 3 point pickup isn't great, but I still haven't seen a good idea for this.
