Tarnishedmax Posted December 1, 2024 Share Posted December 1, 2024 I think the current state of the slingshot and its ammo is great but i do think we need some important tweaks, specially to the alignment rounds. Now, i don’t want them to be completely overpowered but these rounds effects are a bit to low compared to the stuff you get post rifts overall and some more power to them would not hurt, here are some of my ideas for the current rounds. - Pure horror rounds: i think pure horror rounds as a concept are amazing but their damage is too low and the effect goes away a bit too fast for them to pull any real weight outside just using a high damage ammo like a thulecite round, i think this ammo deserves to at least do the same base damage as thulecite rounds and do 51 per hit and the parasites themselves are extremely cool but i think they should stay on the enemy longer, im fine with the damage being low but it deffo has to be higher than 30, i think making it so each parasite does a total of 10 hits (100 planar damage, stacking 3 times for 300 planar damage after a long while) would make this ammo feel more as a support option to use in tandem with other ammo types and act as some sort of poison while targets are distracted by the constant hits, alternatively keeping these rounds as is but making them panic enemies could be a simpler but extremely useful solution, its a really fun round but it needs a little push. - Pure brilliance rounds: i think they are perfectly fine as is function wise but they should be a general buff instead of slingshot only, adding 10 planar damage to any weapon hit for you and your team would make this round invaluable in almost every situation. - Brightshade rounds: Them being thulecite rounds but in stereoids work pretty damn well and do a lot of damage but i think it would be fun if they could trap enemies for just one second, i dont think it would be too crazy to just have a 1 second stun in a big cool down per enemy, something like trapping enemies once for 1 second every 20 or 10 seconds. - Dreadstone rounds: i think they deserve to be a little spicy, making it so they do a huge chunk of damage (like hitting twice for 68) in exchange of sanity to be shot would make it REALLY fun and it plays into Walter having insane control over his sanity, sacrificing this sanity security in order to do big damage would be really fun and risky (something like 5 sanity per shot) because currently dreadstone rounds are in this weird limbo where yes they are GOOD but also kinda pointless overall for how expensive they are. - Gunpowder rounds: they are perfectly fine as is but i think they deserve to have a higher crit chance because the explosion is kinda like really rare to proc. - Stinger rounds: They are fine as is but they just shouldn’t be a skill point, they should be put together with the crystal rounds because otherwise its kinda pointless to get. Now for the slingshot itself, i think the upgrades it has are decent enough and devs have mentioned before they are woking on improvements on handles but i still would like to propose some wild ideas in here. - Scrappy frame: the scrappy frame its really cheap now and its a fun thing to have but its not even a competition with the current thulecite frame and upgrading it feels kinda pointless, its still really good for sniping or killing smaller mobs (like one shotting spiders) but i think it would benefit from an extra effect like a shotgun type shot or just making it do the charge attack faster - Royal jelly handle: i think this handle would fix the gap there is between handles, killing bee queen should feel like a big milestone for Walter and its naturally harder/more resource intensive than other characters because of his allergies, having a silly little side quest to beat your allergies would be really fun i think, for what the handle itself does i would make it so the shot speed gets faster as long as you stand still (basically just pressing F with no other inputs) to simulate some kind of sugar rush, otherwise it should have the exact same shot speed buff as the silk handle, just so it doesn’t replace the void handle, standing still like a turret for damage and letting it ramp up its also risky so its not just free damage and since its a ramp up it means you have to commit to the big damage, void grip would be better for a LOT of other situations still, this should replace the sticky grip and the sticky grip should be moved to the basic slingshot upgrades. Walter has never been this useful and fun to play as before and im enjoying this so much despite my complaints, the dev team has done an amazing job for Walter and i hope they read these suggestions because i think it could be even greater.
