Lunar mutant merms prevent the recruitment of other merms.

Lunar Mutant Merm has no loyalty time,

so the follow status is canceled immediately when the player reconnects or moves to the cave.

 

And if you give food to a merm or a merm guard, the Lunar merm will get the effect of becoming friendly with multiple merms.

(They still have zero loyalty time, so they have no effect.)

When there are Lunar merms around, it becomes harder to become friends with them than usual.
