Are Trees Without Rift Locks Better?

A small thing I thought of, I want to see if others have similar thoughts. But are the affinities without rift locks better? Like, Willow, Woodie, Wurt's merm mutations, Wormwood's craftable friends or Winona's teleporter/rose. I see a lot of love for these skills. 

However, ones like Wigfrids songs, or the current Wortox affinities are not as loved. 

Is it because these skills don't impact much until post-game, or is it because they are just not worth the skill points?

My beef is that it doesn't synergize well with his naughty/combat tree very well. That tree forces use of the knapsack, shadow harvester uses the Reaper instead. The best combat build for Wortox probably just ignores most of his combat tree and goes Nice instead.

Wigfrid affinity songs were and are just bad. Never made them post rift after trying them once.

I deleted the comment because I thought it was irrelevant to the topic but oh well...

I don't think I follow what you mean.
when it comes to "Doesn't synergize with combat tree" statement, Shadow Harvester allows to pop decoys much faster, because they don't work with souls echoes and shadow reaper deletes them asap, resulting in additional layer of DPS so that sounds like ultimate offensive set up?
and I'm not sure what knapsack has to do with affinity being good or bad

Knapsack, held with 5 filled jars, makes the decoys do much more damage. Same with soul piercing.
