Is there any estimated date for the update on the Nintendo Switch?

Recommended Posts

I think the Switch is the second most popular console? I could be wrong. But anyway there is a lot of us out there just maybe not as vocal as everyone else. It sucks because I've bought so many skin packs for different characters and what not and I'm sure other Switch users have as well. It'd be nice to at least give us an update like "We sent it out to Nintendo for approval". ANYTHING would be better than nothing. I'm playing the game less and less now because it's so frustrating to wait without knowing when.

Yes! It's frustrating to see other players playing and we who pay more (since on the Switch we pay more for everything, in addition to the game we have to have a subscription), we suffer from this, so we just ask them to update more for the consoles! I think this has to be done in ALL games, if you're going to update to one, at least think about the other!

I think similarly. I think part of the thing with switch updates might have to do with them seemingly not having as much experience with switch stuff (correct me if I am wrong). But yeah, even just a minor statement or update from a dev would be a lot better than nothing.

I understand your question. I don’t play on the computer; I really prefer playing on a console. I’ve gone through phases of feeling unmotivated, but even playing solo, I managed to get my enthusiasm back. It took a while to find more players who spoke the same language (mainly due to the lack of a chat feature) or who were open to the challenge of learning about the game. Now, I’ve got a team together.

However, it’s challenging to teach new strategies and so on with an outdated game… because console gameplay is different from PC. Many items and gear have different dynamics for players using a mouse.

I’m saving up to buy the equipment I need to stream from the Switch, hoping to inspire more players to join.

Yes, I completely agree with you—any news would help a lot. I like the idea of ‘we sent it to Nintendo for approval.’

Klei, our only request for now is to not leave us with this feeling of abandonment, as if we don’t matter…

Any kind of timeline, any communication, would be helpful.

I’ve beaten all the bosses, and I love teaching new players. The game is amazing, which is why I won’t give it up, but communication really needs to be addressed urgently. I know over 90 players who stopped playing because of this neglect.

Has anyone gotten an update? I got one today but it looks like nothing changed?

It's kinda insane but it looks like they managed to push the halloween updates AND the new skins before the actual game update lol.

Yes, we received the items, but no updates so far, not even the masks in the caves (that take over the monsters and our bodies), among many other things…

I believe we received them because the skins are shared…

If we send an email, they just reply with a standard response saying we have to wait; you’ll know when it’s released…

They haven’t even updated the Halloween event… and soon it’ll be Christmas… and New Year…

Is the update coming after Carnival?

It seems like it…

Even the Klei points, we can receive them, but we can’t see the event, unless on PC… and other consoles might already have access…

Can we get anything from the dev team?? This is seriously getting bad. It's been almost two months and not a single response from anyone. I mean we're all paying customers. I've happily bought so many skins (like many other Switch players). Two months... and asking for a progress update is not a lot to ask for.

So… they’re basically saying:

“Wait, as soon as it’s available, you’ll find out…”

And now, with another update on the way… I don’t know if you’ve been following, but:

Hey, how’s it going?

It usually takes a bit longer. The upside is that if there were any mistakes, they would take time to fix, so it ends up arriving without any headaches.

I get that it’s sad, even feeling kind of abandoned. It takes a while, but it never fails, you know?

Today, I focus on not getting discouraged by reminding myself that the game itself is amazing. It can’t just be about waiting for an update. Does an update give a boost of excitement to play? Sure. But I’m really looking forward to Maxwell’s skill tree coming, among other things.

What keeps me excited is knowing that updates always come—when, I don’t know, but they always do. From what I’ve noticed, on average, the Switch gets one every 2-3 updates.

What I ended up doing is downloading the PC version on steam during the beta stream. What's interesting about this as well is you can fast forward the days played so you have all the skilltree unlocked from day one and sync it to your Nintendo Switch account. I actually stopped playing the game for a bit afterwards and now I'm waiting for the Switch version to release. Wortox is probbaly my favourite player now. I hope they ported him well. I made sure in the feedback that I gave to prioritize the Wortox control transfer to the Switch gamepad. Enough people did this that they did put it on their roadmap so I can't wait to see it in action!
