fabin Posted October 20, 2024 Share Posted October 20, 2024 i've had this idea floating around for a while, so i decided to share it :] this is more of an idea for a sub-set of skills, sorta like willow's spell skills the main draw of these is they'd be more situational "circuits", but equipped on your body slots without actually taking them up. so you could have a body-slot exo-skeleton and also use a backpack, for example so first off, we'd have the hand-slot exoskeleton, the power grippomatic! Spoiler while equipped in the hand slot, the grippomatic would drain WX's hunger +2% faster and reduce their work speed by -15%, but grant them a strong grip, so things like statues or weapons wouldn't slip from your hands when working on anything, any chop/hit/row would increase WX's work speed by +7,5% and work efficiency by 1,5%, with work speed maxing out at +150% with 20 chops/9 hits, and work efficiency maxing out at +48% at 32 chops/15 hits. and if you've done no work in 3 seconds, the buff would rapidly diminish and when both the grippomatic and spring-treads are equipped simultaneously, WX would be able to lift heavy objects at only a -10% speed reduction! secondly, the spring-treads! Spoiler while equipped in the body slot, the spring-treads would drain WX's hunger +2% faster, and reduce their speed by -20% for 3 seconds when hit by anything, but reduce any speed debuff (not the hit speed reduction) by -80%! when constantly moving in any direction, WX's speed would continuously increase by +1,5% per second, maxing out at a +30% speed boost. this speed buff would continuously deplete when stopped, at a rate of -9% per second and also, when above a +30% speed bonus, WX'd be able to run over water for some time! (probably less than like, 10 seconds) and last of all, the data recapacitator! Spoiler while equipped in the head slot, the data recapacitator would drain WX's hunger +13% faster, and reduce the effectiveness of armor by -10% the recapacitator would grant WX a +25% bigger map discovery radius, and allow them to peer in a direction of their choosing, to uncover about 30 tiles in a cone shape, at the cost of 1 bio-data, with a cooldown of half a day any food eaten while it is equipped will also have their negative effects reduced by -20% and any circuits/exo-skeletons and W.A.R.B.I.S. armor equipped while this is active will buff them uniquely in some way, at the cost of an added +2% hunger drain per these are the few i could think of, maybe there could be more hand/body-slot exo-skeletons, with the recapacitator being the head honcho (hehe) of them all, with all the buffing and stuff i think a new layer of "circuits" that have a drawback to them would be cool, plus power armor would look very cool on WX something something thoughts? Radicaljoe Posted October 20, 2024 Share Posted October 20, 2024 I like the idea, maybe exoskeletons could be further upgraded with Warbis armour, kinda similar to Wormwood upgrading his bramble husk with brightshade armour. So the Warbified exoskeletons could have a stronger effect/ a second quirk. This is all very awesome and definitely the direction I would like to see Klei take WX's skilltree. I would also like to see the drawbacks of these be even more severe despite Klei's insistence not to give skill trees tradeoffs. I.E, the Power Grippomatic sometimes has too strong of a grip and kills critters you pick up... Well, I can see why Klei wouldn't do that specifically. But something of the sort. I would imagine there being a couple more of these, probably two per slot so there's even more player expression; as that's what WX seems to be all about.
