I'm new on the forums and i've just wanted to ask a question: Like the title says, Is it possible to get old versions of the game? (from 2014-2017). I know it has something to do with SteamDB but I can't figure it out. THEamazingmaxwe Posted October 11, 2024 Author Share Posted October 11, 2024 When i try to play it through steam it just gives me an error saying something about a ''dontstarve_steamx64'' launcher, and if i try to run the launcher myself (by going to bin/dontstarve_steam) it just downloads the newest version of the game . I don't under stand what I'm doing wrong. Are you using a non-Windows operating system? If it's Linux, you'll need to instead use download_depot 322330 322332 ___ and get the manifestID from here. If it's Mac, you'll need to instead use download_depot 322330 322333 ___ and get the manifestID from here. If that's not the issue, it might be an issue with the download or file management. Steam console should look like this when downloading a depot: If there's any other lines, they might be indicating that some files failed to download. If not, the download should be fine. After copy+pasting and renaming your depot folder, your common folder should look like this, make sure the spelling and punctuation of "Don't Starve Together" is correct (spelling on 2nd folder doesn't matter): If the problem persists beyond that then I'm not sure what's causing it. You could try sending screenshots of the error you mentioned earlier (or steam console, or common + Don't Starve Together folders), though I can't guarantee that will help. I am using windows. My steam console does not say that at all. It just says ''Downloading depot'' and gets stuck at that! Do I launch it normally through steam or do I try bin/dontstarve_launcher ? Edit: Nevermind the whole game began re-installing itself again. When I started up the game the game just gave me a crashlog. I'm not sure what this really means? I'll try a different version.
