Malfario
Three long posts in 2 days, so far i had to rewrite this one 3 times, lets see if the fourth time does the trick. Before starting, i would like to say i don´t want to give the impression that i know better or that i think the devs arent doing a good job, none of that. I love this game with a passion and i will always be greatful that for almost 5 years in which i was able to enjoy monthly updates for free, for the amazing comunity i get to be a part of and the great times i had in the constant. The byomes from Reing of giants lack content, most of them are merely a blanck canvas in which there are a basic amount of basic resources. And after 10 years of dst, it´s still the same grassy byomes, the same 3-2 identical forests with only 2 set pieces diferencing them. To this day i can count the byomes i frecuently visit on the caves with one hand. The rifts introduced new bosses, new enemies and new weapons but at the end of the day, most of what i do on the game is built and farm in the same byomes that feel mostly like they are empty, not really adding that much more to do, but rather new ways to do the same, most notorious changes being mutated bosses and sunken chests. Waterloged and Curse of the moonquay, despite the problems these updates had on their own, worked wonders for the people that play this game the most because finally we had new things to see, explore for and interact with. Exploring the map feels more like a chore than actually exploring, It doesn´t feel rewarding, most of the map feels like empty space in between the points of interests. There is no major difference between basing on the savana or on the mosaic, all the dark forests are the same byome, the only thing that changes is that the one with mandrakes you visit it once, and the one with the moonstone and Mctusk you visit like once every year at most, the rocky byome has 4 resources, no mobs, no seasonal changes no advantages or threats, it just has 4 resources and sometimes spiders. The inclusion of new areas and byomes, and over all, making the map feel new, and exciting to explore is a concern shared with a lot of the playerbase, and something a lot of us were expecting of "From beyond". This post was orginated from the realization that the current arc is not far away from the 2 years of age, and no one really knows how much is left of it. And so i wanted to try and ask if we can expect new byomes on the future ?
