Critter pickup does not count eggs, leading to cramped critters, as the critters themselves do count eggs.

Either have an egg counting option for the critter pickup, or make critters not count eggs towards cramped. Either or.

Pick one.

 

Or.. if you do want managing critters to be more complex or complicated.. im sure there are ways to solve this. but then the critter pickup with a critter count slider seems rather useless.

Base game. as far as it can be after latest patches. Idk if this works differently in dlcs. it really shouldn't though.

critter pickup slider is useful for pufts wherein you want a specific number of morphs of pufts in a ranch
