Malfario Posted July 16, 2024 Share Posted July 16, 2024 This post was partially inspired by the assumption that next update will add some kind of qol to the caves, and if on the same style as staying afloat where not only the base experience is enhanced, but new items and resources are added to give more value to this location (just like how ancient trees made ocean content much more atractive and rewarding). I would like to sugest something i find crucial to add, and that´s options for fast travel. Putting aside character exclusive methods, on the surface we have three main ways of teleportation, being the purple staff, the bootlegs and the lazy deserter, All great options for diferent scenarios and necesities. I think this should be a main adition to the caves, an item or items that allowed us to travel to specific points on the map. For instance, the bootleg aside from being a great option to travel from point a to b very fast its also great because it allows us to transport a lot more items, not being limited by or inventory but by the size of the boat, the telelocator focus and staff allow us to travel and teleport creatures to specific locations but with the limitation of needing recharge for each travel. Following these desingn and the shadowy spooky theme of the caves, what if there was a creature that travels thro the "roof" of the caves, and we could create beacons, to tell this creature where they need to get us, and they will grab us and maybe even heavy items near by us to that location. Or maybe somethin completly different and simpler, allow us to do tunnels thro the void (so we respect the theme of walls) so we can do straight lines between point a and b. What about a redux bootleg ? we place ourselves in the edge of land, and we get an item with wich we can open a "door" to whatever other edge of the map we want, same functionailty as the bootleg, with deeper zones of byomes not being accesible with this method but good enough to built around. These are just ideas made on the spot, i am sure there are more and better ways to implement fast travel on the caves, but i think pointing out the need for one was necesary.
