Custom Controller Layout

Recommended Posts

I finally want to utilize custom controller layout completely, that it would mostly help during combat.

So far, I have only been having as (Zoom Out)

So while still able to easily access both thumb stick without changing them at all, I am looking to replace these actions:

(Use on Self)

  (Attack)

X  (Do Action)

O  (Alt Action)

So far I haven't come up with anything as comfortable, perhaps someone else found comfortable layout and willing to share?

←  ↑  →  ↓  ■  ▲  X  O  L1  L2  R1  R2

I’ve also tried including the Zoom In and Zoom Out features on my controller too (with varying levels of success)

But what I came up with also included either the R3 or the L3 button (the button that activates when you press down the joystick)

Here’s a picture of what the buttons are named for those who might find it helpful:IMG_7878.png.5ec961738c8e985164876ab5e2549eb4.png

So I used thebutton to Zoom Out and inspect stuff in my inventory, and the R3 button for Zooming In, but it was annoying, especially in multiplayer so maybe try using the L3 instead for that purpose, and bind the “Lock On” feature somewhere else like ▲ which is already an action used on other creatures so me might as well do it this way. (Recommended to test it out first before getting yourself into a boss fight or something)

The potential problem you might face by using the ▲ button to Zoom Out is that your character might stop to inspect itself/view it’s own skill tree  in a situation where you are running away from something like 20 Shadow Splumonkeys or Terrorbeaks, thus resulting in your death.

And I wouldn’t really budge the “Core Buttons” such as attack and stuff, but it’s really just up to personal preference at that point.

I’m also open to more controller layouts from those who are willing to share, we might be able to come up with something decent if help each other out on this! :encouragement:

I actually moved all inspect and zoom in to ↑. it opens skill tree only if there is nothing to inspect

But I starting to think making a drastic layout change is too difficult now because of muscle memory, probably if I end up taking a long break from DST then I would change everything and would be easier to adjust, though not any time soon, I am really enjoying Winona now
