Despite their unique ingredients, dishes always treat them to have the same caloric yield - the exception is when they're "cooked", almost always granting +400 calories. EDIT: Every other tier ≥4 dish's calorie yield is either equal or +400 cal of the sum of its parts. I shouldn't have to sacrifice cal just for higher tiers. All dishes that use Sleet Wheat Grain & Nosh Beans use a different system and portray them to yield 400 & 600 calories each respectively. Pepper Bread, made from 10 Sleet Wheat Grains, grants 4,000 cal. Pincha Peppernut provides the illusion of having a +400 calorie yield with Stuffed Berry & Spicy Tofu. However, Stuffed Berry requires TWO Pincha Peppernuts while Spicy Tofu requires one. Combined with Pepper Bread yielding 4,000 cal & Pincha Peppernut not having any dishes of its own, it would suggest Pincha Peppernut actually yields zero calories, with repeated cookings being able to grant more calories just as Gristle Berry, Roast Grubfruit Nut, etc. do. In conclusion, while Pincha Pepernut consumes a lot of resources with no added benefit in calorie yield on its own, it continues OnI trend of dishes yielding the sum OR +400 calories of its ingredients. I'm sorry, but i'm not really, following? you input more resources (functionally, losing calories, in a very straight forward manner due to how pinchas & bristles & sleet all take water), and you gain the same if not less. I'm sorry, but i'm not really quite following. But that's just it. Pincha Pepperplant doesn't increase food quality at the cost of calories. It increases food quality at the cost of resources. Too far down the pipeline to be so easily calculated and abstracted. EDIT: 50 kg water in Lice Loaf is not the same as 50 kg water in Tofu. Under your pretense, 60 kg water in a tier 1 dish is equal to 50 kg water in a tier 2 dish. And 50 kg water in a tier 2 dish is equal to 13.1 kg water in a tier 2 dish. In addition, the Espresso Machine and, even Immuno Boosters, consume Pincha Peppernut with no calorie yield. Meanwhile, Tallow's current & only use is in cooking, and it is consistent in this manner. 1 kg of Tallow will yield different calorie counts across various dishes. In conclusion, Tallow's current rendition WILL exercise a new design philosophy - one I passionately want to be expunged.
