Bad Timez Art
Hello, this is my first time creating a topic, so I'll do my best to explain my situation. DST has made a hotfix to the game on March 27th for their latest update involving the Were Pig. As you are aware they can be found within the caves. I had issues involving the caves because it would crash my game every time that I would try to enter them. I had found this mod called "Don't Starve Alone" by 老王天天写bug on the steam workshop. Since then I had lots of adventures throughout the caves, I even learned how to win against the Ancient Fuelweaver! However, since the latest update to the game, the mod no longer works. I was one of the few who knew about it until now. So many subscribers to this mod had wrote about this latest issue in the comments since then. I don't think the mod creator is even aware about this because they hadn't respond to us about the matter. The mod itself was created for the sole purpose of lags when entering cave worlds for those who like to single play DST. When entering caves, the surface server will stop. While on the surface, the cave server will stop. This mod also does not work on cloudsaves. You can find this info in their description of the mod page in which I'll link to at the bottom. I haven't been able to open my world's server since this occurred, each time I try my game would crash. I wrote out an email about this to Klei's support team. They had me unsubscribe as well as unfavorite my mods to insure that it was this mods doing. They also had me do the Troubleshooting steps. Neither of this has worked and continues to crash after I click on "resume world." As it sits on the "launching server" window, my game would take thirty minutes to an hour to try and launch the game, only to crash again. Occasionally, after the crash, a small window will pop up saying "DST is low on memory." I believe that is an auto message, and isn't accurate, then again I don't really know. I don't want to delete my world because I wont be able to use caves again, like I said my game would only crash if I dared tried to enter them. I am also scared of uninstalling DST because it may or may not remove everything that I had worked so hard on to get. My points, spools, gift codes, portraits, collections, and as well as my skins that I had purchased may end up disappearing after I reinstall DST again. I really need some advice as to what I should do. (anything underlined was based on before I found the mod) Thank you for reading, and here's the link to the mod. Have a wonderful day! https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2657513551&searchtext=cave Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/157185-dont-starve-together-cave-mod-crashes-after-new-dst-update/ Share on other sites

Those things are not stored locally, you can uninstall safely. He's probably just too busy to work on that, keeping up compatibly is quite time consuming you know. 1 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/157185-dont-starve-together-cave-mod-crashes-after-new-dst-update/#findComment-1726018 Share on other sites
Bad Timez Art
I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to making a mod, or how long that sorta thing takes when fixing any problems with a mod. I'm sorry if what I said seem rude, I know people have their own lives to live, sometimes a mod isn't exactly on top of ones 'to do list' in their everyday lives. I know that everyone is having issues with this mod and are most likely facing major crashes like I do. At this point I feel forced to uninstall the game. You did tell me that everything would be fine if I do, but I can't help but feel like there is another way around this. I don't even know how to uninstall Steam games properly. If I do, what if the problem is still there, what then? I suppose I'll have to wait for when they finally do say something, then again I still don't know if they are even wiling to solve this. People have to move on to bigger things, right? I appreciate the response, if you're wiling, could you let me know how to properly uninstall a game from Steam, if I do follow through with this? Open your library and right click on Don't Starve Together in your list of games. Navigate to this menu. Your skins and purchases and the like are tied to your Steam account, so as the other user said you should not lose any of that data by uninstalling and reinstalling the game. Bad Timez Art
Thank you _zwb and Chesed for the help, I really appreciate it. If I do continue to have any issues under this topic, I'll post them here. I hope you both have a good one. 1 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/157185-dont-starve-together-cave-mod-crashes-after-new-dst-update/#findComment-1727089 Share on other sites
