This change to the trebuchet is unfair to Winona!

   The Trebuchet Enhancement skills, which originally kept the boost level on the trebuchet, has now been shifted to Winona in order to make the trebuchet common to all characters again and not allow other characters to use the boost effect.

   It used to be possible to use the enhanced trebuchet without using the Enhanced Trebuchet skills once the trebuchet was built, but now it is necessary to use the enhanced skills in order for the trebuchet to have enhanced effects.

   This is so that other characters can continue to use the trebuchet to weaken Winona, which is unfair to Winona!

   Winona doesn't have enough skills to begin with. The first tier uses up 3 skill points, the third tier uses up 9 skill points, and usually the second tier only has 3 skill points left.

   For other characters' skill trees, there are also items that can be used without the skill points, including wurt's new building, Wigfrid's Battle Call Canister, Wolfgang's Ice and Fire dumbbells, and even Winona's spotlight. It also makes sense for Winona to keep the enhanced trebuchet.

   Solution Suggestion: The boost level remains on the trebuchet, but other characters can only evoke normal trebuchet mode, Winona can evoke trebuchet enhanced mode.

The meaning is to want a different skill tree's catapult and make it a regular catapult for everyone else to use.
This may not be easy to implement from a code perspective. There will definitely be many bugs, and it probably depends on Klei's attitude.

The devs specifically pointed out they didnt want Winona's to have access to the entire skill tree by having upgrades remain after she changes off of them, and thats why this change happened. They shouldnt and wouldnt walk that back.
