Scelerous
Im pretty happy with the direction of most of this beta, especially in regards to the ocean and Wurt. Winona's skilltree, though, feels fairly disappointing. With the exception of the interesting but unintuitive shadow skills, this reads more like a Winona catapult skill tree, and not even a particularly good one. I feel like a lot of Winona's shadow branch could be split up into more perks, while the catapult ones condensed. Furthermore, I want to see more fun Winona inventions that only she can use, to give her more of a unique feel instead of being a character you switch to and from in order to make her kit. Ideas I have include: A catapult-armor type upgrade, where you can wear and thus make portable catapults, probably needing to be charged with batteries or just like gen/gemerators. Maybe they'll reduce your speed like marble suits, but I think it would be more fun without that. A light bug-like machine that follows you around some sort of vehicle that works like a beefalo (p.s. and maybe you can attach catapults to this one too!) (p.p.s. maybe it can be upgraded to be a shipwrecked style boat?) (p.p.p.s. why can't we ride grass gators that would be fun for ocean exploration) Agro dummy - sorta like bernie, it would be cool if you could make a machine that didn't do real damage, but enemies would want to attack. Could also look cool visually - I'm thinking a machine that's just flopping about all the time, maybe shooting out harmless sparks. This would be cool if it could also move in directions, so maybe if you didn't want to fight hounds you could just put down the agro dummy and it would pull hounds away from your base. I could see this one having cheese potential in regard to pathfinding, so it's probably a long shot. More fun ideas for skill perks include: catapulting people. With the hilariously small range of the current telebrella, it could also just be thematically replaced with catapults and landing pads instead, and it would be an actual Winona invention instead of something stolen from Wagstaff. Some of these would probably be a little strong, but I think they could all be arguably balanced if added individually. They would probably make Winona too strong if all of them were added, but I hope some of them make it in to the final build. Just from a player perspective I feel like Winona's playstyle needs something fun and dynamic, like willow's magic, wigfrid's lightning spear, or woody's moose. While the current skill tree may make Winona a conceptually broken, especially with the multiplier to catapult effectiveness, it doesn't make for active gameplay and doesn't need Winona herself to function. Cyrefy
I think Winona's structures should be detachable for all characters, or something similar to Warly's crockpot, which disassembles when hammered.
