Feedback on winona skilltree

I love it.

Concept wise i love the idea of winona having two benefactors regardless of her affinities, these little details tell us so much about her lore and relationship with the antagonist i just love it.

From a first impression i get that winona has a neautral side thats mostly optimization of the old machines, thats a good idea to an extent.

The shadow side offers mostly early game advantages. Better movility with bridges and wormwhole teleports, as well as more efficient fuel use, since nightmarefuel and pure horror are better than nitre in any way for what they give. With the final perk having the best revive in the game and inmunity to charlie, i like the theme of the shadow side been charlie helping winona and watching over her.

Lunnar sidè clearly seems more inclined to late game with best fuel option stronger teleports (hopefully because portasol right now is a bit meh) and better storage.

So far all of this is greatly designed, having nightmare fuel to fuel catapults, and pure horror to make them stronger is a great early game advantage, and the rose revival is just winona one free hit in the dark perk expanded, really neat idea. But even if you go lunnar in the endgame you are still able to take advantage of some of the shadow power so it doesnt make it completly useless at this time.

Now, Winona still could use some work done on her skilltree.

First on the neutral side, the perks that make her catapults have a larger area in which to hit, are not really that usefull, they old area was good enough for all needs. Same goes for the optimization upon the generators, the affinities kind of make these useless because we get so much better fuel options, plus we can have them not waste energy when not being used.

My sugestion would be to please add more machines instead of these perks, this would really help to flesh out winona as the engineer of the group and would open new things she can do, because thats the biggest problem of the neutral side, she doesnt do anything new but what she already did but better. And 6 perks are number buffs that dont make a difference. In regards of what new machines could be delivered:

Bring a sprinkler (not the hamlet one) to water crops or make enemies wet.

give her a stomper (the hamlet one).

give her a motor for boats that subtitue sails.

give her a container for tools, hammers, pickaxes,axes,shovels etc.

give her a recicling machine to turn equipable tools into scrap an doodads (idea of eternal_grudge).

The new remote could also be used on this to control them better, put them on an hiper mode that waste more energie but makes them go faster and or strogner etc.

Regarding the affinities, i think aside from the portasol and the winbots, we could give winona improved versions of wagstaff single player googles. The ones that fire a fire projectile could now shoot an attack like the one from the brightshade staff that gains more dmg the more enemies it hits. this in regards to the lunnar one.

For the shadow ones, the rose coloured glasses should give winona more interactions, keeping the theme of early game advantages. I think this is needed because the bridges dont offer anything more than a grass boat does and the wormwholes are good depending on rng of the world generation, not really that strong or usefull. I would like to sugest the next interactions:

THE STAGE, winona using the glasses can use it to summon the mocking birds that will hint winona the location of certain point of interests.

THE ENDTABLE, winona could make it so with the glasses she forces the stage hand to be up all time and use it as a beefalo, carring her around the constant at very high speed.

THE PSEUDOSCIENCE STATION, she could use the googles on them to turn on/off the nightmare cicle.

THE SHADOW RIFTS, use the glasses on them to trigeer the grow of different materials around it like dreadstone boulders, thulecite, more pure horror creatures etc.

I think these are all my  thoughts about winona, i am glad to see that with each skilltree update these become better and better and better, Wurt is a masterpiece honestly and i hope winona can get on the same level.

I think adding like 4 extra machines to this skilltree would just make her overloaded.

If Klei were ever to add sprinklers, motors and tool containers, then every character should have access to them, with Winona having the extra advantage of making them slightly better.

The Endtable, Pseudoscience Station and Shadow Rift perks you mentioned seem way too powerful to not only be locked by character choice, but also be all on one specific character. They are powers more akin to something a boss drop could do, not something a character can just use from day 1.

Klei already gave Winona some absolutely crazy powers: land bridges, rerouting wormholes AND revives wirh almost no penalty (!).

What you excpect is quite a jump compared to the kind of interactions Klei could give her that would be cool, but not absolute game-changers locked to a specific character.

Keli doesn’t change that much before realase. If they would change somehing it would be its description or duribilty.

I thought of it too but if they remove waggstaff tele tool would be better and add motors instead of it.

Bruh we are not a Rust players that just straight copy paste other games idea.
