marshyds
- The good! - 1. The merm king sidequest branch is really interesting and unique! The buffs are also neat, giving the merms dodge and karate (even if the marble armor is a mystery right now.) 2. The armory is neat, being simple to fuel too. 3. The tool shed is nice but could use more utility (which ill touch on later) and durability. 4. The allignments are REALLY cool and good. - The iffy - 1. The survivor swamp turf speed skill could be base kit, instead perhaps replace it with merm guards being tameable by them? 2. The wetness branch. Sanity is solvable with fish in your inventory and rain already doesn't drain her sanity. The freezing skill is honestly fine. The water damage protection doesn't make much sense since she doesn't fight much herself. Give it to her merms instead. The water regen is fine i guess. Honestly, just 2 new merms in the skilltree would make it good. If Wurt cant swim... then merms could. REPLACEMENT SKILLS: 1. Skill - Wurt now can TAME (So its not character switchy) and craft oceanic merms. Oceanic merms are weaker on land for balance and stronger on the ocean, where they can swim. Oceanic merms have the ability to fish in the ocean once a day. If wurt gives them food while they have a fish then they will drop it. Said tool for fishing has to be acquired from the tool shed. Oceanic merms solve the issue of merms clogging up her boat and give more utility beyond combat. 2. Skill - Tamed oceanic merms now gain a free hit when wet, but cannot get wet for 8 seconds. 3. Skill - Tamed oceanic merms now regenerate health faster when in the ocean, Wurt regenerates health when wet. 4. Skill - Tamed Oceanic merms are immune to being frozen, wurt gains increased freezing protection. 3. The hunger branch is unknown to me right now, but it could be replaced by farmers that grow food for yknow, hunger. REPLACEMENT SKILLS: 1. Skill - Wurt can now tame and craft farmerms. Farmerms cannot fight, but can water and tend to plants. With a toolshed farmerms will be able to till and grow plants using a hoe. (Seeds have to be supplied by wurt.) 2. Skill - Farmerms may be tamed to collect grass and twigs near wurt. 3. Skill - Farmerms now are able to use mosquito sacks to fertilize plants themselves. - The bad - 1. The merm sisturn. There is no point of speeding up merm respawn times when the merms already respawn in half a day. REPLACMENT SKILLS: 1. Skill - The merm sisturn now instead feeds the merm king kelp, if his hunger drops enough for 1 kelp then he will be fed. 2. Skill - The merm sisturn can be upgraded to also slow down kelp spoilage. 2. Mosquito skills, these feel like they are beyond saving. I honestly dont know what they could do without adding a 3rd merm though. IMO the wurt skilltree would be amazing if it just added 2 utility merms so that she isint all about combat. The reason i suggested seperate new merms is mostly so that it isint all the same 2 buildings, but if it's seriously dire then have regular merms do these things. I doubt you'll all consider thse suggestions, since the skilltree is already partially complete, but i hope you will. I'd like to hear thoughts from other wurt mains too. GreenBowers
I think it can mostly be solved by just letting us get either the Axe, or a Hoe from the tool shed. The hoe makes a merm into a farmer merm that tills soil and plants seeds. Farmer Merms cant get giant crops, and only plants one type of crop for the seeds you give it. That way you can passively get food, but a player hard focusing on Farming will always be more rewarding.
