Wurt idea, followers making Wurt stronger vs Wurt making followers stronger?

Recommended Posts

Obviously the devs have Wurts skill tree so what fleshed out, and it's very possible that Wurt ends up having only a lunar tree

But conceptually, I like the idea of Wurt having two opposing skill trees (or ultimate talents at least) that will put her down two different styles of play

The ultimate for lunar would make Wurt all around weaker, while strengthing all of her followers. The ultimate for shadow would be making Wurt stronger while making all of the followers around her weaker (with the strengthing being based off the amount of followers)

As one of the token follower characters I feel like this seems like the most obvious way for Wurts skill tree to get designed

You can argue that this works for webber too, but with the logistics of spiders I imagine webber makes sense for a very different approach (transforming and summoning ie)

Even if you use the term "stronger" followers, I'd rather hope for more diverse followers! I'd want them more useful across the board, have them do more things such as farming, fishing, tree planting, fire tending and cooking. If I wanted stronger merms, I'd just build another 20 merm houses (and thats boring).

I agree completely that it needs more merms, I just don't think this would be the main overarching theme or ultimate climax of Wurts revamp (le I doubt that there would be a new merm building for shadow and one for lunar)

Just after seeing the Winona remake it really made it pop out of the potential.

Of having lunar Wurt being about directing your followers (yeah I'm asking for more than a wolfgang whistle here)

And shadow Wurt being about stealing their strength to somehow empower yourself

I want mostly utility, not really much combat.

I think the actual new skills themselves will be where the utility is derived from (ie new buildings)

I think the overarching themes/ultimates would have to come down one path or another.

And FWIW I'd think Wurt empowering his followers is utility

What makes you think Wurt is going to be lunar?

Also, I have to disagree about Wurt skill tree being fleshed out, what they shown looked random and rushed compared to what they had shown with Winona which actually looked fleshed out, but I could be wrong, and they might be saving the big surprise until beta.
