Thinking about the teleportation platform

So, one of the things that was shown off in the latest stream was Winona's new(ish) teleportation platform. It wasn't exactly functional quite yet, but let's analyze what we know already. 

It's obviously inspired by Wagstaff's telepad, they've mentioned telebrella so that's probably coming back too, it needs to be powered up to work, it can be dismantled and moved like the rest of Winona's machinery. 

What I wonder about is just how similar it is to Wagstaff's telepad in functionality? 

For those unfamiliar with it, basically, it's a structure Wagstaff could make in singleplayer, which he could teleport to using a telebrella, his other unique item. If you used a telebrella while on a platform, you would instead be teleported to the next closest pad in range, so essentially, you'd have a pair of wormholes you can teleport between, which you could also teleport to. 

So, assuming it's a one to one to its Wag-tech counterpart, what would be different with what we know? Well, since it needs power to work, I'm guess unpowered platforms wouldn't be a "viable" teleportation location, which I think could already possibly allow for some more flexibility in how you could set up your teleportation networks, plus, you can always dismantle and move the platforms, so I can see that helping too. 

If the tele-platforms are going to be just like that, it's not gonna be easy to set up a decent teleportation network around the world, but perhaps that's intended(after all, Wanda has that niche covered quite nicely). 

Now, a possible solution to make it easier to set up teleportation networks would be to perhaps make the platforms accept lunar lenses, with platforms with lenses of the same color working together normally, but platforms with lenses of different colors "ignoring" eachother. Another possible solution would be to use a system similar to Wortox's soul hop, where you could select a platform you want to teleport to on the map. 

It's certainly gonna be interesting to play around with these new teleportation platforms, as their need to be powered up by a generator to work might make em a curious middle ground between Wortox's constant upkeep cheap teleportation and Wanda's permanent but expensive teleportation that requires to be set up first.

IIRC if you choose Wagstaff path you can fuel the gemerators with enlightened shard, which last forever but have a side effect (whatever that is) so I can see a word where you set up multiple teleport spots just like wanda, but instead of tusk now you need shards instead. (kind of a bummer, considering things that need shards now, but what can you do)

As for the mechanic of teleportation, if its anything like Wagstaff, you can teleport between two pads as long as you stand on them. It will prioritize the closest pad available, so you need to be mindful of where you want to set them up.
