Firecart
(Ga) Gallium - A very soft, thermally conductive metal with a melting point of 30 Celsius that is used in creating LED's. Has a -65 Celsius penalty when used for building, making it by far the worst metal to build with for hot and even normal environments. (Zn) Zinc - A soft metal that can be built for batteries that gives +2 kJ storage bonus, but melts at 420 Celsius and has a -15 Celsius penalty when used for building. (Li) Lithium - A soft alkali metal that can be used for batteries to give a +10 kJ storage bonus that slowly decays to a +3 kJ bonus over time. Not recommended to mix with water, whether that be regular water or a polluted/saline form, unless you want to produce (LiOH) Lithium Hydroxide and hydrogen. Melts at 180 Celsius, giving it a -60 Celsius penalty. (B) Boron - A very soft metalloid used in the production of insulative glass and fertilizer. This material is not thermally conductive, and melts at 2080 Celsius. (K) Kryton - An unbreathable gas that is very slightly radioactive. If enough Krypton is captured in a canister filler, it can be used to create fluorescent lights. Lithium-Ion Battery - A battery that has 75 kJ of storage (bonus does not apply here) and must be created with lithium and refined metal. It still has an automation output to determine whether generators should be on or not, and the energy bonus from this battery decays to 45 kJ eventually. Overheats at 90 Celsius (accounting for Lithiums overheat penalty). Fluorescent Light - A light source that produces more light than a regular lamp but also consumes more power (20w) and produces more DTU's. Created from Krypton and a refined metal of choice. Light Emitting Diode (LED) - A light source that produces about the same light as a lamp but takes less power (4w) and produces far less DTU's. Created from Gallium and another metal ore of choice. The heat penalty from Gallium does not apply, and the melting point is a mix of both gallium and the chosen ore. (A mid game light to help prevent the common heat death) Fiber Glass - A stronger variant of regular glass that can withstand meteor impacts better. Made from Boron. Molten Gallium Geyser - Outputs Gallium at about 70-110 Celsius. Probably not healthy for dupes... Molten Zinc Geyser - Outputs Zinc at about 650-790 Celsius. Absolutely not healthy for dupes OR the colony. Henlikuoth
I have nothing against many more materials and structures, etc. And as far as I can see, they announced that for the coming smaller DLCs. So, let's hope for the best then.
