I don't like the scrappy werepig fight (so far)

Recommended Posts

I feel like it's much harder and a lot more frustrating to get him to knock into the junk piles due to the path finding changes (especially when he does a dash attack). I'm pretty sure you now need speed for this fight because of this (tho I could be wrong). The scrappy werepig also has weird range to his attacks which normally I wouldn't have a problem with but he has a tiny arena which makes it annoying to bait his attacks because you will either get hit or run too far from the arena. Despite all of this criticism, I do really love his lazer attack. My last complaint is how bad his drops are (so far), they are pretty much useless unless you're a console player.  Ways to fix the scrappy were pig:  Reduce his range a bit and make the dash attack work like his pounce attack where you can dodge it by stepping a bit to the side towards the scrappy were pig. To improve his drops I would give the helm some special ability like the dreadstone helm. I really don't know how they will change the path finding so it won't be too easy like before, or too  frustrating like it is now at the time of writing this post.

Again, I am aware the boss is not finished yet but I still wanted to express my concern and give some criticism.

Ive fought it another ~4 hours and found it impossible to defeat it flawlessly even with plenty fences provided.

His tackle attack has been nerfed to the point that with a cane it can be easily dodged (compared to former). However when below 50% health his attacks become completely random and trying to lure his certain attack is extremely difficult, dispite that through datamining he must use axe attack when the target is 0~4 units away; laser attack when 4~8 units away; tackle attack when 8~ units away.

To defeat it with least damage taken, one must have at least 1 speed-up and BS sowrd. Surround the Teetering Junk Pile to force him not use the tackle attack when below 50% health.

he uses the halberd if you were close by the time he queued the attack, which could be even during another animation, so if you were hitting him while he had the halberd and his cd expired after that, he'll use the halberd after that, even if you'll run far away enough for him to use the shoulder spike

(this is me speakin from fighting him day 6 with a hambat, football helm, logsuit against pre-rift scrappy pig) idk why people find the boss so bad, i died only 4 times in testing and found out him hitting trees (very likely he spawns near them as scrapyard so far seems so spawn in a pineforest), its just 5-6 hits before you run behind a tree for him to ram into/swing, each thing can last 3 hits so thats all you really need to keep track of. if you run too far you can manipulate him to run to his pile and grab some piles of scrap to throw, he wont stop grabbing and throwing even when hit so just run away ahead of time to behind a fence so he does an attack. i feel this is one of the few fights in the game where i have actively paid attention and felt like stuff is in control once i got the idea down

ill see if my positive opinion stays that way when i fight him post-rift
