Enemy set on fire 's loot

Recommended Posts

I think that enemies killed while on fire should drop their loot smouldering by default instead of being exclusive to willow

Using fire is a niche strat that almost nobody use for how punishing it is. Changing this wont unbalance anything that isnt unbalanced with willow (some mobs AI should be improved tho, like spider's queen...)

imo it's fine, people aren't using fire because the amount of damage it deals is tiny, it's mostly for fighting things without other light sources/making some enemies unable to attack since their attacks are inconvenient to avoid e.g. varg summoning hounds, ewecus' mucus, bishops' projectiles etc., also adds risk to those strats instead of making them free and still allows you to use fire freely if you don't need the stuff that the enemy would've dropped if it would've died while not burning

Without loosing the loot you are already risking burning stuff arround and damaging yourself and other players. Unless you bring a fan, a watering can or the fire book from wicker you will still lose the loot. Talking about wicker, this change would improve her book from almost useless to useful in some situations

Edit. Also makes no sense to lose non flamable loot

Against bosses isnt that bad but way to risky

I dont get why this community and certain users in particular make such effort on going against having fun things instead of a bunch of useless mechanics

because they already have uses and it's more fun when there's risk and they can't be used against everything freely

you can just keep igniting them until they enter their final phase, e.g. BQ doing the scripted screech after having already done it once before enabling screech that boosts grumble bees, AG spawning shadow tentacles, toadstool jumping, eyes of terror opening their mouths etc. but no one bothers with that anyway

that'd just make everyone who want to use fire carry a watering can or make it unnecessary in case of a lot of enemies since most enemies' important drops don't burn unless even things that can't burn normally would start smoldering

So fun just few players use it and not always. Yaaay

A downside for taking advantage of such weak mechanic

Not many mobs and bosses who drop important loot can be set on fire and they can make it so these items could smoulder too

You are really trying hard to not improve such weak mechanic

Still you try hard to keep it being underused

it'd be boring if it'd be best to use it when fighting all enemies that can be ignited instead of only some specific ones

1 less slot is hardly a downside

BQ, toadstool, AG, seasonal bosses, treeguards etc.

your suggestions won't make more people use it since people don't use it because the damage is too low and not worth bothering with even right after they started fighting the boss and know that it won't die while burning, some enemies also try to go as close to you as possible inbetween attacks, forcing you to constantly go away to not take fire damage that'd otherwise get applied because you'd be too close or constantly chase the enemy and go away if they're running into you if fire makes them panic

It is when in your own words it is low damage that nobody use. Also you are wasting 2 slots minimum, 1 for the item to set enemies on fire and 1 for the item to extinguish the fire...

Bq's royal jelly, bearger fur, moose goose feathers and living logs burn.

Try harder

You really need to win the argument, huh. To the point of giving bland reasons that contradict your own bland points

you're simply trying to start an argument or express hatred, this text is worthless and doesn't contribute to the argument, you should learn how to talk without making people not want to talk to you not because they have nothing else to respond to in an argument, but because you're wasting time and are unpleasant to talk with

i thought it wasn't necessary to mention that to kill things while they're burning, you first need to have something that you can use to ignite them, you'll also be carrying torch during winter and possibly spring anyway

you said "important loot", not "important loot that can't burn", which is why i named those

the point was that you aren't supposed to use it for additional damage unless you're using something worse than ham bat, it doesn't need buffs because it not being useful for everything is fine, because of this you need to think about when you should use it instead of using it against everything you can use it against and your suggestions wouldn't even change that, all they'd do is allow you to not wait for bishop to stop burning before killing it
