Ancient Headcanon

So, I've been working on this idea for a while, and I think I've got it figured out, so, here goes:

So, in the ruins, there's a boss called the "Ancient Fuelweaver." This is important. There are also two sets of puzzles, the Cyclum Puzzles, which give you the Tragic Torch torch skin, and the Metheus Puzzles, which give you the Ancient King's Chest and Cane skins for the Chest and Walking Cane, respectively. This is also important. 

So, the Ancient Fuelweaver (referred to as FW from here), as a quote, says "Metheus..." which is interesting, but not anything much on its' own. However, Metheus has been confirmed to be female[citation needed], and on the murals, it shows this:

And "this" appears to be Metheus trying to protect Cyclum from a mysterious entity, shown in Fig. 2:

which seems to look a lot like the mysterious being Carlie tries to contact here in Fig 3:

So, I think that Cyclum and Metheus were the king and queen of the Ancients, who were killed long ago... except that the meddling Survivors accidentally brought Cyclum back to (half) life, causing him to try to kill them in a (rather misguided) attempt to right the wrongs of his past... when Metheus died trying to save him (but he died, too). 

It makes me wonder what there is in store for these poor adventurers... because that black eye does not look friendly... my friends.
