Game opens on black screen then closes/ does not open when launching the game through steam?

I downloaded the game and ran it for the first time, then it opened with a black screen then crashed and returned to steam a few seconds after.

I have verified file integrity, reinstalled the game, updated graphics drivers, ran the game under windows 8 in the compatibility mode, deleted log files (the client and chat log, only those two, i havent opened the game before in the past so they were the only two),do not have or ever used mods.

Any suggestions?

 

is it this?: Also, i tried running it windows 10 before and after using compatibility mode to run it in windows 8

idk what's wrong after looking at the log, report this as a bug in bug tracker, sorry for responding too late, it doesn't really matter if you just write a reply or quote, just that quoting produces a notification for the user that you quoted to view it

np, you need to press the plus icon at the top left of this page, press "Bug in Klei Bug Tracker", press "Select" and press "Don't Starve Together", then fill the required fields

thank you. I made a bug report, now i have to hope the developers see this.

On that note, do bug reports usually get resolved?
