New chest armor effect is backwards

Recommended Posts

So the new void robe effect is to make the wearer immune to insanity auras. Isn't it made to be fighting lunar enemies though? i.e. the ones that have sanity boosting auras if any? I think this effect should definitely be on the brightshade chestplate, and that would even synergize with the celestial crown by helping to keep your sanity high. The damage reflection could be taken from brightshade and slapped onto void robe I guess, but that effect is a little odd in general. Perhaps instead getting hit while wearing the robe would have a chance for Maxwell's shadow sneak spell to trigger and scare the attacking mob(s?) into an aggro-breaking panic.

as an aside- the dreadstone helm and suit buffs are totally unnecessary

I think it falls along the lines of being "one of us." The sides' weaknesses to each other seems to be more from an incompatibility with each other than knowing how to defend against the other.

Im totally cool with the new effect of the void robe. Having set bonuses only requiring helmet allows you to mix and match the new gears. Void robe and brightshade helmet would be the way to go when fighting inside miasmas, unless you just choose to burn them away.

With that said, the brightshade armor effect of recoiling 10 damage seems underwhelming. They should just change it into a speed bonus, lesser than the magiluminescence.

No. Brightshade gear is made for fighting lunar enemies. They're the ones with increased resistance against lunar aligned monsters just like how the Dreadstone and Void gear have increased resistance on shadows.

Hmm okay true with resistances, but the weapons/tools have increased damage. It seems that Popian is right: the best combo would be lunar hat, weapons, and shadow suit when fighting shadows, and then shadow hat, weapon, and lunar suit for fighting lunar (so you get the special weapon bonus from the hat plus the defense bonus from the armor). Admittedly that is pretty interesting that you need both sets to get the best result, but I think I'd still prefer if the whole set was suited for the same thing. Idk anymore
