Need help with textures and pivot points

I can't find anything that talks about making a new textures

I want to make a follower, like Woby, but I would like to make new textures instead of drawing over Woby's.

That being said, I was hoping that someone can show me a way to create new textures, make new pivot points for animations, and how I could get Don't Starve to recognize the textures in-game
