FurryEskimo Posted January 27, 2022 Share Posted January 27, 2022 In the process of adding an ENTIRE new speech file to a mod, but there's something strange happening. When the server begins to launch, it's told to select a different speech file, but it fails.. The code in question looks like this: -- Custom speech strings if GetModConfigData("language") == 7 then STRINGS.CHARACTERS.WILDCHILD = require "speech_wildchild_spanish" --Translated by: *** else STRINGS.CHARACTERS.WILDCHILD = require "speech_wildchild" end If I edit the new file to have the original file's name it works, which tells me the error is with the file's name. There's only one reference to this file in the entire mod, so I have to assume the game is remembering the original file name and refuses to accept any alternative. When I made a new save file it still failed, which surprised me. Does anyone know what might be causing this?
