Its_Hi
First of all - Sorry if I posted in the wrong section of the forums. Kind of new here... I've been pretty interested in making a Mod/Addon for Don't Starve Together, but what I have in mind requires a custom animation to be made. I'm not a 2D animator so my work pretty much sucks a**. Are there any tips or guides on how to get better at animating for Don't Starve in Spriter? Or is it all just a matter of time to try and try again until I get good at it? Nelzanger
For modding, in general, there's not shortcut, you will need to reverse-engineer on how the game was made to be able to mod it, and for that, you need to look on how things have been created, whenever it's in the base game, or mods. I recommend to download the ESC Template mod in that purpose : it contains a lot of information you can learn from, especially on how sprites and animations are packed. For animating, you are right : it's a matter of time, and mostly work, to make something good, especially if you're not an artist. You will need to know how to animate in Spriter, but also how traditional animation works in general so your animations would not stand out oddly. Your best bet would be the links below if you intend to do it by yourself, or to ask a confirmed Spriter artist to help or collaborate with you. 1 1 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/133826-new-to-animation-modding-how-do-i-start/#findComment-1497086 Share on other sites

I don't suppose that I can just walk up and ask an animator to animate for me as that is quite a di**-ish thing to do. So I will try to learn myself.
