msh91
I tried to look over for a fully automated ranching without water pumping, but couldn't find one; so I came up with my own. The good stuff: - The design will keep the exact amount of critters+eggs in the ranch room that you want (e.g. 8) - It will send all other eggs to a kill room, which can be a room with water where eggs will eventually hatch, die, and a sweeper will collect the meat The bad stuff: - Upkeep cost: 60w, always (smart storage bin) Design: The algorithm for the design is: (1) When ranch room contains more than desired amount of critters+eggs, send eggs to room A (sorting room) (2) In the waiting room, send 1 egg to the kill room, and all eggs back to the ranch room (3) Repeat (1) if needed (happens automatically) Technical details: - Ranch room / critter count sensor: above 8 (desired amount of critters + eggs) - Room A / critter count sensor: above 0 - Room B / buffer gate: 15s (arbitrary based on distance and testing) - Room B / smart storage bin: Max 1kg - Note: an egg is actually 2kg. But when I used 2 the sweeper sometimes put 2 eggs in here. It's a bug, but using 1kg is a quick workaround. Notes: - In the Power Overlay picture the potential load is 1620w. However, that includes: - An auto sweeper (120w) and a conveyor loader (120w) from the kill room, to take the meat after the hatch die - A liquid pump (240w), not related to the design - Hence the total potential load is actually 1140w Feedback and improvements are welcome And I hope you like it!
