ApeOfDeWest
I've been taking a look at the community challenge section recently and you know what could make for some more interesting challenges? Being able to build machinery, cables, buildings etc out of neutronium that the player can't destroy or remove. Similar to how ruins light fixtures work at the moment. You could use this to build challenge rooms similar to the ones that are generated in the oil biome, the automation puzzles but these ones you actually have to solve. You could make a critter sensor that opens the door to a previously inacessable area and give players a critter at the start of the map they have to look after the whole way. Now I understand not that many people play challenge maps, but you could also use this in sandbox mode for making indestructable (no melting or breaking) mechanisms to play with the simulation, as some people enjoy doing that more than actually playing the game. And the most important thing about this? It would probably take almost no work programming wise to make things buildable out of this, just adding neutronium with its current properties to the buildable elements list should do it. (Buildings that generate heat will probably have to have heat generation removed cause of the no conduction property though.) And while i'm talking sandbox mode / community challenge suggestions an infinite battery would make these kind of builds so much easier to make and testing so much easier to do without dupe sacrifices.
