[Event Suggestion] The bunny's coming!

Recommended Posts

I’ve been thinking about a new event for Don’t Starve Together, and there’s my idea for an Easter Event – I just couldn’t think of a good name for it, so I’m sorry. – There it go:

1.       Easter Eggs can drop from enemies during the event, and work similarly to Christmas candies. They can be consumed, don’t spoil and can give simple effects also like some of the groceries in Winter’s Feast, like increase the player’s temperature. They could be traded with the Pig King for gold too.

2.       Berry bushes can give Easter Eggs besides common berries. If they’ve been collected during the day and a Gobbler didn’t spawn, a rabbit can appear on it’s place (who will return to the bush it spawned at Dusk). However, if the player collects them during Dusk, there’s a chance of a Bunnyman spawning instead. This Bunnyman will attack the player because of the egg he Just got. It’ll return to the bush and despawn at sunrise.

3.       Rabbit holes can be examined for hidden Easter Eggs, if the player is lucky enough.

4.       Goose/Goose Eggs will be fully decorated and drops many Easter Eggs if broken by the player, besides other random drops, working like the Loot Stash. For it to happen, the player himself must destroy the egg.

5.       Tallbird Eggs are some kind of relic for Bunnymen, so it’s possible for the player to see them sneaking upon Tallbird Nests at Dusk, putting the egg in a basket  and fleeing from the desperate Tallbird trying to recover it’s precious son. If the Bunnyman succeed, it’ll drop a Treasure Map.

6.       This Map can also be adquired if the player steals a Tallbird Egg and leave it in front of a Rabbit Hutch during the day for a Bunnyman to collect it and leave the Map as a drop. Trying to deliver the Egg at Dusk or Night will cause the Bunnymen to attack the player.

7.       The Map will work similarly to Shipwrecked’s Treasure Maps. It’ll mark a red X on the player’s map showing where the treasure is, then the player must dig to reveal a chest full of Easter Eggs and some random loot, like common materials or even simple items. But, if the player is lucky enough, he can get an extremely rare Golden Egg that is used for craft a special sculpture.

8.       After being crafted on a Potter’s Wheel, the player will get a sculpture on the shape of a giant Rabbit carrying a basket full of golden eggs. This statue can be carried and repositioned like Chess Pieces or other sculptures. It’ll work like a offering sanctuary which allow the player to donate certain resources to receive special items.

9.       Among the possible drops, there are thematized decorations and even usable items, like:

a)      The Egg Basket: Works like a Garland, giving the player a Sanity Aura and making Bunnymen / Rabbits follow you. Bunnymen will fight with you, while rabbits bring berries, twigs and grass as gifts .

b)      Rabbit Foot: Carrying this one in the inventory will increase drop rates by 5%.

c)       Bunny Ears: Makes Bunnymen neutral towards the player even if he’s carrying meat.

d)      Bunny Vest: When equipped, the player can dig a hole on the ground and hide, working like a Bush Hat. If both Ears and Vest are equipped, the player will start jumping like a Bunnyman instead of walking, gaining bonus movement speed.

e)      Carrot Dagger: Like a Hambat, it spoils instead of breaking, and the more it’s spoiled, less damage the weapon does. Can be thrown by holding the Right Mouse Button and releasing and, if your enemy didn’t notice you yet, this throwing does doubled damage.

10.   Every world generated during the event will have a Tallbird Fortress, which serves as a scenario for the main event. For old worlds, only those with a Tallbird Fortress can participate. It works this way:

a)      All Tallbirds have a eggshell helmet, which gives them great defenses. However, it can be broken by attacking the Tallbird or with a Carrot Dagger throw.

b)      These Tallbirds respawn in 5 seconds if isn’t removed.

c)       Bunnymen can be recruited for battle, and using a Bunny Vest and Rabbit Ears near them will grant a damage buff for both the player and his “soldiers”. And there’s more: in addition to making them attack the Fortress, they won’t flee at low health. FIGHT TILL’ THE END!

d)      Collecting all the eggs will cause the Bunnymare to spawn, destroying all nearby structures and starting the Bossfight.

e)      The Bunnymare is a giant corrupted rabbit. His attacks creates nightmare creatures that attack all nearby players. He also has a strong insanity aura. He has the following attacks:

I.                    Bite: Quick attack, the player can dodge and hit once.

II.                  Bunny Hop: After 3 Bites, the Bunnymare hops, destroying all nearby structures upon landing and dealing brutal damage on the middle of the impact area.

III.                Frenesi Jump: After losing 25% of his life, Bunny Hop is replaced with a sequence of 3 quick and weaker jumps.

IV.                Nightmare Form: At 50% HP, Bunnymare assume his nightmare form. Every attack he lands against a player heals the boss for 5% maximum health.

V.                  BUNNYMARE!: The boss terribly shouts, darkening the skies and resulting in a night until the fight ends. His attacks are stronger, the sanity drain is twice as powerful and  Bunnymare also bites twice in a row. This means that the player must hit and dodge both bites before hitting again.

f)       The Bunnymare drops lots of Bunny Puff, Nightmare Fuel, Monster Meat, The Bunny Staff and the Eggmulet.

g)      The Bunny Staff: Allows the player to create up to two Bunnymen. They’ll help the owner collecting resources and fighting, and if the player is using a Bunny Vest and Ears, he’ll gain the Bunny Hop skill, allowing him to jump from a place to another and dealing damage on landing.

h)      Eggmulet: Works like the Life Giving Amulet. Upon taking fatal damage while using the amulet, the player is put into a Nightmare Egg – a dark egg with red decorations – and regenerates life, while losing sanity. This effect drains the amulet’s durability and can be cancelled at will.

There’s also some skin suggestions:

a)      Spear: Similar to the Carrot Dagger.

b)      Rabbit Earmuffs: Maybe a free skin, giving it bunny ears.

c)       Rabbit Hutch: Surrounded by some grass with decorated eggs; Bunnymen that spawn from them also have a different skin and carry a basket.

d)      Crockpot: A decorated cauldron covered in melted chocolate.

e)      Bush Hat: Maybe also free, a bush full of decorated eggs instead of berries.

f)       Glomglom: White and decorated like a Easter Egg.

g)      Vargling: With bunny ears.

h)      Dragonfly and Broodling: Carrying a little basket.

i)        Backpack: A decorated egg with shoulder straps.

j)        Chest: A decorated chest. When opened, everyone can see a lot of eggs.

k)      Voltgoat: With carrot horns.

l)        Mosling: With a ribbon around it’s neck.

Aaaand that's it, I really hope you like the idea, I would love to see this event happening! More sugestions are welcome :D

PS.: Klei rhymes with play.
