Compost mass select

It'd be nice if we could select multiple food items for the compost task at once, like we can select multiple tiles with the dig task. I have a mealwood farm that is a tad bit too big for my colony, and I'd like to compost all the extra meal lice before it rots itself to avoid generating any unwanted oxygen. So currently, manually clicking through 20-odd meal lice where they dropped off the plant, and then clicking "compost" for every single one of them is a bit tedious.

Also, why are seeds not compostable? I accidentally got some food poisoning germs on some of my seeds, and I wouldn't have minded destroying (or as it were, composting them) if the option was available. A nice chlorine bath did the trick, but I am just wondering why the different treatment between the food items and the seeds, seems like if both is primaryily made of 'genetic ooze', I should be able to compost them just the same?

I too wouldn't mind the option of being able to select multiple items when composting out of the storage bin or refrigerators - as riwenna states, selecting multiple compostable items is both tedious and monotonous, not to mention time consuming.
