Zeklo Posted April 24, 2017 Share Posted April 24, 2017 I was looking through the William Carter puzzle stuff and noticed this. Remind you of anything? Now the first image is really old, but it has shown relevance with some of the other symbols, and so assuming it is valid... The symbol could potentially be of the following, or something similar. The first one seeming to mean sky (or something similar), and the other, I think, meaning illusion. I'm less interested in the symbol, and more so in the gem. As this gem seems to hold great importance. Given theories of it being the opal the symbol sky could work, meaning sky gem, but then why not just use the moon symbol? Overall, I have no idea. Diiitoe Posted April 24, 2017 Share Posted April 24, 2017 This is purely speculation but: - Do you guys think the portal would show a person behind it when the fuelweaver tries so hard to stop us from using it? He calls us fools for activating it when he dies and when we dies he clearly deactivates it. Even so Maxwell talks to Charlie when you examine some of the ancient murals in the atrium saying "I know why you led me back here" and "but it won't work". - Personally I think what's behind that portal is very dangerous. The images on the obelisk from the metheus puzzle show us that the portal gave the ancients nightmare fuel to use and it eventually killed them. So to me that portal screams DANGER. The ancient fuelweaver knows what happened last time and that's why he's trying to stop us so hiding Winona behind the portal is a bit stupid. Maybe the fuelweaver is like NOPE you're not getting a new character but who knows. - Maybe Charlie wants to take the fight to "them"? Maxwell said they only watch and the pictures of portal on the obelisk shows an eye watching from inside the portal so maybe "they" live in there? Maybe Charlie wants to break free from her evil personality and that's her end game? Getting back to Maxwell and living together again? - There was also someone who thought the together in don't starve together could be split into "to get her" so maybe we are helping Charlie and also trying to save her? Wilson knows that going to the throne doesn't help so he and Maxwell might have come up with a plan to save Charlie and also find out who "they" are? Don't get me wrong a new playable character would be nice and I'm all for it but the portal seems a bit too important and dangerous to just hide a new character behind it. I don't even know what Winona would know about the world that could help Wilson and the others beat the creatures that keep them trapped there. Could you explain why it would be of great use? Because Maxwell used the radios to communicate with Wilson and get him into the world but now the technology seems useless for getting them out of there.
