Was just playing alone, doing rather well considering the situations. Relocated a spider den closer to base, decided to kill the denizens after setting it down for some extra loot. Keep in mind, level one spider dens are confirmed to only have a total of three spiders in them. One roams, two appear if the one is attacked, and only one den was in that entire area code.

Attacked first spider.

Killed first spider.

Second and third spider approach.

Killed second spider.

Attacks third spider.

Dies to fourth spider.

 

What even. A fourth spider just popped out of the nest for absolutely no reason and ended the game. Literally did not even react to its existence despite seeing it appear, because there are only three spiders in level one dens so its existence did not even compute. Unless the nest population refreshes based on a time of day and not frame of time, and it magically allowed them to reinforce when they had no business being able to.

Shrugging off problems is pretty standard for being able to enjoy the game, as people that get hung up on death or tragedy will just get frustrated. But still, had a game robbed by sheer absurdity.

Dens check every couple of seconds if the den is full, if it isn't (because you killed one) they respawn based on a timer independent from the spiders getting killed

Uhm how long did it take you to kill the spiders because spiders respawn very slowly as time passes.

Killed them all in less then fifteen seconds, which is why the idea of them having respawned in that time is baffling.

Even getting hit once matters, if you have no health left afterwards.

At that point, likely had lost most health to something else.
