PhoViper
IDK what a good title would be but something that might help building in the future would be the allowance of a locked line of sight for building, ie. When dragging from right to left I sometimes drift from the tile I'm trying to build. Having something to allow for a locked line of sight for building might help this. Then again it's not much of an issue, just an idea.
Kruleworld
I think they call it axis restraint. many photo and drawing programs use it so you can draw a straight line.
mr_anderson
You can do it with pipes and wires by holding shift, im not sure about tiles though.

Yes, it works with pipes, but not with ladders or tiles. I personally build tiles using WASD leaving the cursor still as it's faster. A faster approach for building tiles would be: click point a, hold shift/ctrl/whatever click point b and the game itself fill the tiles between them.
